Any given night man. Any given night.

Orlando has potential. Their problem is that what they really need is a franchise PG, and this draft is full of potential  franchise forwards and a center. Oladipo isn't cut out to handle the point, but he's a tenacious defender who can also score some, so having him at the 2 works. The ideal scenario would be if they got Dante Exum, the one guard in the top 5 of the draft (Marcus Smart's lack of shooting ability drops him for me) and he turned out to be legit. Then you'd have Exum, Oladipo, Nikola Vucevic (only 23 years old), Tobias Harris, and a mishmash of Mo Harkless, Andrew Nicholson, and Kyle O'Quinn. That would be a pretty good 25-and-under core. But Exum would need to be a true superstar to launch them into legit title contention.

The fallback option of drafting Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker or even Joel Embiid would work, but they'd need to find a PG.

Eh, one-point wins.

Looking at their roster though, there's no reason they can't be better than they are.  They're already close to matching their win total from last year.

Dear Fark,

No matter how many greenlights about individual games, or the NBA in general, what passes for basketball nowadays still sucks.

Thanks for your time and attention.

I'd just draft the best player available (might be their last season in the lottery for awhile, due to the general WTF nature of the East) and make a run at Kyle Lowry this offseason.  If that doesn't work, there's enough on this team to trade for a stop-gap PG cause there's just so much PG talent right now.

Maybe it wasn't during the Bird-Magic-Erving but they actually followed the rules back then.
