I've been to this particular McDonald's and I'm not all surprised by any of this.  I went to another McDonald's done the road from this one this morning and they got my order wrong.  They actually doubled it so maybe they're being overly cautious now.

Getting damn close though

Honestly, not even close. There are parts where I wouldn't let my wife walk alone, but overall not bad.

Not exactly the sharpest peanuts in the terd, huh? But I'm sure they'll have bright futures once they figure out how to drop the fries and what direction to pull them up in.

Yeah what morons, obviously when you hear a loud bang in food service, the first thing you should think is "holy crap someone's shooting up the place!"

I've learned over the years to be very apologetic if my food is served with cheese, even if I could not have been more clear about that part of my order. I never mess with food service folks.

We must go to the same BK.  Or used too.  I gave up on the one nearest my house.  There was one on the north side of town that was great, but it closed last year.  And it's sad, because if I do give in to the craving (about twice a year) I really do prefer BK.

Random observation.  I saw Ride Along yesterday and immediately noticed that the gunshots sounded very realistic.  Not at all like movie gunshots.  I was impressed.

Depends on what state you're in; here in PA that law was overturned ages ago. I did voter registration right after that, most wouldn't register most likely to fly under the radar and not let "the man" know where they live - some felons never renew their drivers license for the same reason.

You think that will keep you safe?  If the place is staffed by a bunch of flunkards or people who don't speak English, you're safer eating treebark.

Ask me about KFC, I dare you.

It was always debatable which of the canal st. mcdonalds was the world's grimmest. Since I've moved to l.a. I now know it is the mcdonalds on sunset in Hollywood.

No.
KFC - I took the kids there, we ordered our food and I sent them to wash their hands.  They came back and informed me there was no soap.  I take a look; there's no soap or soap dispenser.
I returned to the counter and asked the ESL 101 failure where the staff washed their hands.  Apparently if the word isn't on the menu, they haven't heard it.  After about 5 minutes someone figures out they have a health code "you're closed" violation scenario unfolding.

I've discovered that if you VERY politely and calmly explain something to them while glaring at them you hit a nice middle ground.  They realize you're pissed, but they also realize you're not screaming at them like a half dozen other people that day.  I scored a free sandwich and a cookie from the local deli after they screwed my order.

Me: "Excuse me, I've been waiting on a cold sandwich for 30 minutes." [glaring]
Deli Girl: "Let me check on that for you."  [Heard a bunch of shouting and scrambling]
Deli Girl:  "Do you want a free sandwich on your next visit?"
Me: "Sure." [continue glaring]
Deli Girl: [I get sammich and card for free food] "Do you want a piece of cake or a cookie or something?  I feel really bad..."

It would really help if they had the menus in a type of Spanglesh/Ebonic hybrid. Like some kind of fast food Rosetta Stone.

Maybe if I ordered "Dos cheebuggah and a sis peace macnugget and some BBQ sauce wif dat, por favor" they'd actually get it right.

Because I need something to eat after I get out at work at 5:15 but I need to get to class by 6.  The drive takes 30 minutes with traffic and there is nothing else quick on the way.

I can deal with mistakes.  Food is food.  The errors in my order never are in my favor though.  I am getting really irritated about that.

Actually, mistaking a gunshot for anything else is pretty easy.  I was at an arcade/pool hall/drug den in a sketchy area at 16 and heard a *bang* that my mind registered as a guy getting angry at Street Fighter and bashing the machine.  Which, given the state the sticks were in, was pretty understandable.  Me and my friend were just standing there, pool sticks in hand, as the rest of the patrons (okay, the black people, which was everyone but us) were diving behind machines or running to the bathroom (to, uh, clean their shorts?  Well, in a manner of speaking, I guess)

The helpful black man that had belly flopped behind the pool table I was using pulled me down by the back of my shirt while my friend continued to gape.  "Street smarts" in a nutshell, folks.

(they hired a guy to stand at the door and wand everyone after that.  So we could Mortal Kombat without the Mortal Kombat)

Harry Freakstorm: Let me guess. Here was the order:

"I want a Mac Double with real onions not the chopped ones. Tomatoes and lettuce to the side. A Diet Coke with light ice and a value fry with light salt. I need 20 napkins, ten ketchups and some BBQ dipping sauce."

She is in every car that has been in front of me at McDonalds. The ice is never light. The fries are too salty or not salty enough. The lettuce and tomatoes that are wrapped in a hamburger wrapper seems to be a crime against humanity.

This. It's always amusing to me when people are particular about their order at a fast food place.

Just order regular food off the goddam menu. It's all equally cruddy, don't try to fancy it up by making it a "special" order (AKA, the Pain in the Ass Meal). Scrape the condiments you don't want off the sandwich and proceed.

If you have special dietary needs, I'd suggest not going to a fast food place.

And if you take off ingredients in a bid to get "fresher" food, you're only fooling yourself. They have a little bit of EVERYTHING pre-made, including your McDouble with no cheese hold the onions. It's been sitting on the warmer for a good 15 minutes waiting for you.

I was at the counter at a McDonald's during a slow period (around 3:00pm). I was the only customer in the place. I ordered a Quarter Pounder with fries and out of no where the two girls behind the counter got into a slugfest right before my eyes, pulling hair, punching, kicking, etc. My burger went flying and the fight lasted for over 5 minutes before anybody from the kitchen came out to break it up. I did get a fresh burger, however.

More like when you make 100s of the same thing muscle memory kicks in and you do it just because it's what you always do.  When you make a special order some people see it but they inadvertantly mess it up or if you are at the drive through the person packing the bag picked up the wrong sandwhich and gave you the normal one.

I hate Burger King because everytime you order a Whopper they ask if you want cheese.  Jesus make a different item if by default you ask that question or make it come with cheese and I'll say no cheese but i feel bad for the workers who have to ask with every single order.

So the women returned to the restaurant's drive-thru window around 3 a.m. and ordered again. Torres was the passenger in the vehicle, and was flirting with the employee in the first drive-thru window. She left that person her phone number in hopes he would call her later.

I personally enjoyed this nugget (no pun intended). Yes lets hit on the drive-thru guy, give him your number, then proceed to have a conniption when your order is wrong from said "hottie" you're hitting on and pull a gun out and fire thru your own window into theirs. Yeah, I'm no professional dater, but I don't think this constitutes getting a date.

The flirting was at the first window, where she paid. The shooting was at the second window, where the order was wrong.

In other words, she still has a shot at getting that date!

Police tracked down the shooter at her home because she left her cellphone number at the restaurant during the first incident so the manager could call so they could discuss the wrong order.

Torres pulled out a gun, reached across the driver and fired a bullet through the closed car window, and then the drive-thru window, police told 24 Hour News 8.

You want to know what the real cause of violence is? It's not access to guns, it's stupidity.

Been to the range several times. Not very good at shooting but quite familiar by now with the startling ruckus caused by guns. Still, if I was at work and heard a bang somewhere feet away over the din of all the typical loud noises of foodwork, I'd probably instinctually think "aw jeez who just broke something" instead of "hey sounds like a handgun, better hit the deck". You seem pretty determined to feel superior here, sorry to make you work for it.
