I don't really see what the big deal is honestly. Living in a factory farm until fat enough for transport and slaughter is much crueler than a trained and pampered animal doing something it has a natural instinct to do.

They fight if you put them near each other. Forcing them isn't part of it, have you ever dealt with roosters? In fact they kill and maim each other pretty natural and without any human intervention on a regular basis.
