Fark that, the men's downhill starts at 2am ET. Here's what the 1st skier of final practice did on Saturday. I'm staying up for that.

I've been waiting for an hour for the ambien to kick. I'm not desperate enough to watch the Olympics though.

The free Hola plug-in for Firefox and Chrome will let you view CDC and BBC streams from the US.

2014-02-09 02:14:37 AM
As an American, I'd be willing to pay the TV tax for satellite access to the BBC channels. (I don't care to stream stuff, esp. Ilegally)

Whata guys think takes bigger balls.. Downhill skiing, or luge/skeleton.    They're both equally "NOPE" in my book but I think downhill has to be the most dangerous..

2014-02-09 02:16:57 AM
The men's downhill was delayed due to a gondola malfunction. But they're finally underway now.

These Games are incompetent in their competence.

First guy down clips a gate and was soooo close to taking a ride into the catch fence.

Skeleton for me. But I wouldn't do any of them.

2014-02-09 02:25:32 AM
I could not imagine doing 80mph and then launching into a jump.  All of these people are insane..

2014-02-09 02:25:41 AM
Well, the Spanish guy doesn't need to stick around.

This CBC chick loves to hear herself talk

Great run by Ganong on the bottom half!

Wow...   Awesome..  The competition is tight.. Love this

Ski jumping. Also Id rather luge than bobsled safetywise. In bobsled some lunatic is driving and if you get separated from the bobsled it can chop off bits of you.

It's ridiculous how many events at the Winter Olympics involve sliding, falling or jumping off near-frictionless surfaces at breakneck speed, often while out of control. The Games strongest competitor is gravity.

Downhill has always been one of my favorite events, the speed is insane.  I can't believe they actually take jumps going that fast!

I dunno about that.  I believe one luger was already killed in practice this year.  A luger was also killed in Vancouver.
Luge / skeleton are maybe my favorite events, but they are f**king insane and absurdly dangerous.

2014-02-09 02:41:55 AM
DNF to France

2014-02-09 02:42:19 AM
You suck Clarey!

2014-02-09 02:42:21 AM
I also give a nod to short track speed skating. Tight group of people pushing and shoving each other while having razor blades attached to their feet.. fark THAT

Skeleton is tops on two lists for me:

Events I Most Want To Try
and
Events I Least Want to Try

mikaloyd: You suck Clarey!

I watched some of the 1st practice session for this. 2/3 of the skiers I saw missed that very same gate.

2014-02-09 02:45:29 AM
Fill now Miller next

2014-02-09 02:47:10 AM
You suck Peter fill.

2014-02-09 02:47:24 AM
The bottom of the course is slowing down a tad

2014-02-09 02:48:49 AM
Bode with the aggro start, almost blew it but came out .3s ahead. Bloody hell.

2014-02-09 02:49:16 AM
You SUCK Bode miller

2014-02-09 02:49:56 AM
Miller, you suck. Totally blew it.

2014-02-09 02:50:18 AM
NBC are going to commit suicide knowing they can't fill 4hrs of primetime TV dedicated to sucking Bode Millers cock..

2014-02-09 02:51:25 AM
Yeah, just a terrible run from Miller. Considering how well he was doing in practice, does that have to count as another mental breakdown for him?

/not like I could even get the balls to strap skis on, much less do so at 80+ mph

2014-02-09 02:51:31 AM
It's amazing how they take a full two minutes to go downhill, struggle (or not struggle) in various places, and still almost all end up within about half a second of each other.  Off by a little bit, and you're out of it.

2014-02-09 02:54:09 AM
Damn, what a truly insane sport downhill is.
It looks like a complete blast to do, though.

2014-02-09 02:54:27 AM
Bode. Who wins a medal in Sochi with a name like Bode? When we put together an Olympic team, dummy, we're gonna give them names like Shannon or Rick.

Indeed. Just shows the level of competition these guys are at.. This is why I enjoy this event the most.  It really is one of those events literally anyone can take gold..

They'll just give him a sideline reporter job like they do all the other hyped-up Americans who don't win anything.

2014-02-09 02:55:48 AM
You blew it Paris

2014-02-09 02:56:19 AM
The bottom of the course is going to fark.. Past few guys have been ahead of the time at the top and lose it after the midway point..

That's one of the coolest parts, just waiting to see the time splits can be nail-biting!

2014-02-09 02:58:48 AM
Svendal you did OK

2014-02-09 02:59:31 AM
Damn, he bumped the American out of bronze
