this was on odd one, it has "knockout game" mentions that are popular with conservatives which explains The Daily Squalor doing the story but the kid involved appears to be white, although he is kinda dark skinned for a white guy so maybe the old people will just think it's a black dude.

I am intrigued by the story, but not enough to give one of the worst derp sites on the Internet a click.

A different link, used mostly because it's the only one that mentions the Gretzky angle.  Otherwise it's a shiatty local news blog pretending to be a local newspaper or something.

Well, it's like The Great One says, you miss 100% of the shots you never take.

redsquid: BTW- I can't wait until the 'stand your ground' and 'knock out game' Venn diagram intersects.

So with you on that one. Anyone who's enough of a jackass to think it's cool to sucker-punch random people in the head for fun deserves whatever they get. Any minute now, one of these fools is going to hit the wrong person and get a lot more than they bargained for. And I'm totally OK with that.

The douche is a hockey player with a mullet. Nobody is going to mistake him for a black guy.

Turfshoe: FTFA: "On Tuesday, a local judge ordered the stunned sophomore to jail pending a hearing that was on Thursday to determine if he is a danger to the community."

He was stunned that randomly attacking people and putting them into the hospital might cause him to be put into jail?

I would think that sucker punching three random people, severely injuring two of them would pretty much be the classic definition "danger to society."

Shouldn't he be dead by now?

Crohn's disease isn't fatal. Bloody diarrhea is no picnic. But not fatal. I guess he was the sickest kid they could get up on skates.

Just do what I do: make up stories based on the headline based on what you assume they're about. Saves a lot of time that way.
