(The Daily Caller)   About a decade ago, he was on ESPN meeting Wayne Gretzky in a Make-a-Wish program. Today he is walking about with a mullet punching random students and giving the education editor a chance to use the phrase "pugilistic pupil"   (dailycaller.com) divider line 62

Make a wish is bullshiat. Is not even necessarily for terminal cases. Why, batkid isn't dead and was not in danger of becoming so

GhostfacedFiddlah: It's symbolic of what's happening here in our society when people just feel they can violate somebody's rights

^^^ this farker right here.  These types of "rights violations by punching" are an extremely recent phenomenon - I challenge you to find even one single historical instance.

This story is a powerful symbol of what's happening.  You know - in society.

Violent crime has been declining significantly over the last 30 years. People have been killing each other for little or no reason since the beginning of time.

And in September 1992, Norwegian exchange student Yngve Raustein was killed by three teenagers who, according to Cambridge, Massachusetts, prosecutors, were playing a game called "knockout".

Destefano, 19, is a resident of New Jersey.

It all makes sense now.

Destefano's parents spoke of their son as a fighter ...

Got their wish.

swahnhennessy: But he's not black...

And he doesn't have a mullet. He has long wet/greasy hair slicked back.

jake_lex: I am intrigued by the story, but not enough to give one of the worst derp sites on the Internet a click.

A different link, used mostly because it's the only one that mentions the Gretzky angle.  Otherwise it's a shiatty local news blog pretending to be a local newspaper or something.

Sorry - my sarcasm generator must be malfunctioning.  I was trying to point out the absurdity of that sentence.  Anyone who looks at a new trend in violence and tries to tie it to "what's happening here in our society" tends to be a moron who can't extract nuanced views from complex situations.  I'd wager 10:1 that "what's happening here in our society" includes a decline in church attendance in this person's mind.

Sucker punching people is a mug(ger's) game.

Seriously, though, sucker punching people is fairly easy because people don't usually go around with their guard up. That said, he must have heavy hands, to actually break jaws and eyesockets. It's a shame these assholes never seem to meet someone who can slip and counter.

I hope he enjoys his time in prison and felony conviction. Nice "game", huh?

some_beer_drinker: i am not really against this knockout game, but i think they should punch people bigger than them. not old men, or old ladies. not kids, not geeks. they should punch bikers, and cops and hockey players. or me. then things would work out naturally. no jail needed.

^^ I support this

and offer myself as a test subject for "what happens if you punch me" (and further invite anyone with a video camera)

// go ahead - make my day - get off my lawn

A hockey player randomly punching strangers = warming up for the big game.

The son of a guy I work with is one of this asshole's victims.  Broke his eye socket requiring hours of surgery.  Just got out of the hospital yesterday.

Hope the douchebag gets a long, long time in prison.
