(The Blaze)   PETA gives kids outside of L.A. elementary school comic books with inserts showing cows being electrocuted and covered in feces. Apparently parents have a beef with this   (theblaze.com) divider line 18

I'd be upset too, especially knowing that PETA regularly acquires animals from shelters and then euthanizes them instead of giving them a chance to be adopted. They have a hell of a nerve preaching about eating meat or how animals are slaughtered. Bunch of hypocrites, IMHO.

"We regret that happened. It was simply a mistake made by volunteers," explaining that the two pieces shouldn't have been put together.

So you're not only liars, you're gutless liars as well.

I wonder if PETA members wank to this stuff when nobody is looking.

Pattuq: If it takes shocking impressionable little kids to get people to grow up caring about non-human life, then go for it.  The perfect fairytale world so many of us fabricate to present to kids until they're "old enough" to handle reality does more harm than good, especially since in most cases "old enough" is whenever we no longer feel guilty about telling them the truth.  Not just about this, but a wide array of subjects.

Your opinion is disgusting.

And please try to avoid breeding.

If there's any agency on Earth that's even worse at outreach than the GOP, it's PETA.

In the military, we defined terrorism as "terror inciting tactics used to further political, religious, and ideological goals".  I submit that Peta is using terror inciting tactics in order to futher an ideological goal, therefore making them terrorists.

Attention whores too, but terrorists first.

Oddly enough, I agree. Showing kids where their food comes from is always a good idea. Taking them fishing (and then cleaning and eating the fish) is an excellent traditional way to do that. If you can't do that, just teaching them how to cook a whole chicken and going through the bag-o-guts will drive home that this was once living thing. PETA's little handouts have pretty much squat about the reality of eating meat or how animals are usually treated, however.

PETA is pretty much the Jack Chick of animal rights.

IlGreven: I don't get vegans who are vegan because they don't want to harm animals...as they munch on vegetables which were most likely ripped straight from the ground by heartless machines without their permission, leaving their now-empty husks to wither away in the field of their birth.  And fruits plucked from trees as casually as you please...but that's the equivalent of reaching up a womans vagina and plucking her eggs out to heartlessly devour in front of her...which, come to think of it, is basically what we do to chickens.

I went over to a vegan friend's house the other day. She was so vegan she didn't feed her cat any meat.  I watched her cat closely, and it was watching her with a certain expression...remember those old Looney Tunes cartoons when two guys were lost for days at sea, and one guy gets that certain expression on his face, and then we go to his point of view, and the other guy's suddenly turned into a roasted chicken?  Yeah, kinda like that.  I wanted to tell her "That cat's gonna eat meat, whether you want him to or not. And if you don't start feeding him meat...that meat could be you."

Cats will go blind if they don't get meat. They are not meant to be anything vegetarian, much less vegan... You might wanna tell her that.

violentsalvation: Since PETArds like to cover themselves in blood and run around the streets half naked protesting burger joints maybe they should roll around in some sh*t and electrocute themselves.

Now THAT would be some good reality tv right there.

I just tell my kids not to take anything from strangers. And if said stranger becomes aggressive, kick them in balls or coont. Then call 911 and stay a safe distance away to explain that the older person was aggressive.

gja: meat0918: Oh man, my kids saw the old, "Your Mommy Kills Animals" pic I was searching for, and their response was "Yes, she does, but not like that" as well as a, "They gave that to kids?!?!?"

Is that for real? Is that sick shiat something they actually print up and hand out?

It's for real

If you're squimish about where your food comes from then maybe you should rethink what you eat.

So in the end, it turns out the parents did have beef that had been electrocuted and covered in feces. Medium rare, they had it.

FTFA: The newspaper noted that the organization seemed to stop short of actually apologizing but offered a peace offering in the form of dairy-free ice-cram sandwiches.

I don't know about you, but I don't want anything crammed into my kids, dairy-free or otherwise.

Even PETA wouldn't stoop to that.
