So apparently that whole "once it gets a taste for human flesh " thing is real and not a myth? Wow.  So why wouldn't all tigers have figured this out long ago, given what comparatively easy prey we are.   In a Darwinian sense, tigers that prey on humans wouldn't have to work as hard to get food and so should have an advantage over non-human  nomming tigers

A good well aim punch to the nose would make most tigers run away in fear even if they are much larger or stronger than the average human.

It's a fact not theory.. the problem is the execution of said punch that may be more of a complicated undertaking.

Maybe we can have a Battle of the Jungle Boyz.

I read several of his stories as a child, and if memory serves me right, he did follow different methods and had locals as his companions.

For anyone not knowing what we are talking about:

How man eating tigers behave are completely different from regular ones. Keep in mind tigers are usually afraid of humans and will stay away if possible. All man eating tigers becomes so for a reason: being too old to hunt, injured in a way that it can't hunt its usual prey anymore and so on. But once it becomes man eater, it is basically a huge change for them, in their eating habit and how they behave.

Bottom line, punching on the face may work in a regular case, but unlikely to work in these cases. Specially because these ones like to hide in bushes and kill people by breaking their neck with their paw. So, you are more likely to feel their paw (and that's too, most of the times, just once, you are dead pretty much right away) than to ever see them, let along throwing a punch.

Rather than leaving live goat bait they should leave live people bait. First have the people eat poison then let the tiger eat the people. Problem solved!
