limeyfellow: I get advertisements for Discovery Cards all the time. They always come with 25-40% interest on them as opposed to the <5% I currently have. I yet to see why I would go with a card that works in far less places with insulting interest rates and horrible terms and conditions.

Don't carry over a balance. Problem solved.  Then use it to get cash back on all of your purchases.

Also, I haven't been anywhere in the last 5 years that hasn't taken Discover. Maybe you're traveling abroad a lot or something? Then that might be the case. Otherwise it's a problem they seem to have solved.
