What kind of sanitation can a floating outhouse/dishwasher/garbage disposal have?

vudukungfu: What kind of sanitation can a floating outhouse/dishwasher/garbage disposal have?

Permanently moored boats usually have service connections to the standard land-based sewer, water, electricity, etc.

I don't think I'd put anything in my mouth that's indigenous to Cincinnati.

What is that? It looks like spaghetti as re-imagined by blind Eastern European immigrants.

At least the river isn't on fire this time.

Jeff Ruby can't get a break. To top this off, when he heard about it breaking loose again, he jumped in his car to get down to the site and had a wreck on the way there.

Well, to be fair, it IS on a barge.

You're close.  Cincinnati chili was devised by Greek immigrants.

I thought "floating restaurant breaks loose and floats downriver...again" was another way of saying; "Bengals player escapes jail...again".

Welp, I've got egg on my face now.

I don't care where the idea came from, putting chili, cheese and diced onion on cooked spaghetti noodles is sheer brilliance.

If ONLY there was some kind of device they could use to anchor it to the bottom.

I missed the part where Ruby  deserved a break. The guy has good steakhouses (albeit a little pricey), but he's a 1st-class attention-whoring douchenozzle.

FarkingReading: If ONLY there was some kind of device they could use to anchor it to the bottom.

I bet if they put a really heavy weight on the end of a chain, they could lower that into the water to anchor them in place. Nah. That'd never work. Back to the drawing board...

also, subby, just to be a pedant Covington != Cincinnati.

He is, but he gives away a LOT of money to charity. As far as pricey? Yea boy. If you get out for under $150.00 a meal, you're damn lucky. I'd like to go to one of his places if I lived in the area, but I wouldn't fit in. I really don't care about fitting in though.

We agreed there was no better home than a raft. Other places seem claustrophobic, but a raft doesn't. You can feel free and relaxed and comfortable on a raft.

And a raft with a restaurant?  Even better...

yeah, i spoke a little hastily because i submitted this with a better headline and i'm just bitter; for the most part ruby does more good than harm to the city. and i do patronize his restaurants every so often.

fwiw, i was totally in favor of him removing OJ's pics/memorabilia after the whole murdering thing. i think he's done similarly with other celebs who have fallen from grace. however, there have been some times where he's spoken up for no reason other than to hear himself talk. it usually concerns sports-related nonsense. offering unsolicited advice, making non-issues into issues. stuff like this. and when you drive a ferarri with a plate that says "angus" around town, well, haters gonna hate.

i briefly attended culinary school with his daughter, however. really nice girl.

I have to admit that the first thing I wondered was if the river was on fire as well.  That's the Ohio stereotype: flaming rivers.

LW: Hold it, somebody stop the bubble machine. The whole ballroom is lLathering up with bubbles. And now I can't see the cameras. Here, let mMe set that accordion down on the stage and I'll try to fix that. Bear with us, folks just a moment please. Gee, the time is running out and we haven't even played the polka. Wait a minute, boys, I didn't mean... hold it, Alice, don't polka on my accordion. Gee, Dad, it was a Wurlitzer. Hit the theme, boys. And so it's goodnight from all the champagne... wheres the cameras... there's so many bubbles I cant... and so, friends, we... help, the whole ballroom Is shoving off to sea...

SM Sure is a clear night, aint it, Captain?
SC Yup, matey, these are the kind of nights when the sea plays
Tricks on ye.
SM Yeah, I recollect one night off Singapore...
SC Tricks, I say, like that mirage off the port bow now.
SM What?
SC See it there, kinda bubbly looking in the moonlight?
SM Oh, yeah. Gee, if I didn't know better, I'd say it looks
Like the Aragon Ballroom.

Cincinnati native. Always pissed me off when we would get wasted and someone would want to wait in line for that watery, godawful Alpo knockoff. "Ooh, but it's open til 3am, and it's a landmark!" No, it's farking nasty.

THAT looks like some web chef's interpretation of Cincinnati Chili. Noplace would serve that. Not enoough cheese, and too big of beans. Beans are not typical anyway. Thats a five way. Hardly anyone does that.

Ruby does steaks very well.
I love a good steak, and only a couple of Midwestern places equal or come close.
Chicago Chop House (beats Ruby) and St. Elmo's (misses slightly but wins with the Shrimp Cocktail) in Indy, to name names.

Can you tell me when the Ohio River in Cincinnati has caught fire? I've lived here all my life and don't remember it happening once.
