But some people have misinterpreted the words "NO COLORS ALLOWED" to mean the bar doesn't want black patrons.

Ironically, "no colors allowed" would mean only black.

A lot of my white shirts say don't wash with colors. Makes picking a time to go to the laundromat very difficult.

Depends on how you're looking at it.

In art, white is the absence of color, and black is the combination of all colors.

In light, white is the combination of all colors, and black is the absence of them.

I know my way around a few biker clubs. Watched the bikes for the local Bandido chapter when the neighbor held church every other week.

I'd know exactly what they meant when I saw that sign. The general public not so much.

Change the sign so that it says "No Club Colors." Problem solved.

The meaning is perfectly clear to anyone who has been within 100 feet of either a biker bar or an urban dance club.

This sign always confused me when I first started driving by it, but it didn't really click until I saw a similar sign at a bar in the downtown area with a bunch of motorcycles out front.

Yeah, it's fairly standard. I learned what it meant fairly quickly when I started going to bars more years ago than I'd care to think about--back before there was any "social media" to stir up outrage.

Anyone with a problem is encouraged to register their buthurt in person at the club.
those are the rules.

So get on over there and wear something nice.
Something colorful.

In order to be offended by this sign, a person would have to be rather nubianrdly with common sense.

If you don't know what "no colors" means, then, by all means, stay out.  You won't like the clientele.

I think he means it's common for those types of establishments.

There's one at a local pool hall, too.

No, he is correct. Let's use RGB. Black is (0,0,0) so no R, G or B. White is (255,255,255), clear is not a color.

Yeah, my wife has a pile of "Darks" and a pile of "Colors". I keep trying to explain that this is not correct, she needs to call the clothes something else.

As far as TFA goes, what a bunch of retards. If I saw "No Colors Allowed', I'd be able to figure out, the only thing to really determine is if they have a biker issue or a street gang issue(Depending on where you are). Instead, they have a double whammy--Bikers AND morons with cell phones.

The one biker bar here in town has a big damn sign declaring it neutral territory and to not wear your club colors. They make some damn good burgers; although it can take 30 minutes for you to get what you ordered if you're not a regular.

I've never been to a biker bar in my life and I still immediately knew what it meant.
Then again, I'm not out looking for reasons to be offended.

Well, first someone has to have their head removed from their ass. Next, they have to be somewhat familiar with common phrases like "colors" or "gang colors". You can see this in schools, restaurants and bars across the country. Even when you sip your Cosmos and Apple-Tinis, you will usually come across a place that has a specific dress code to prevent things like brawls and shootings.

Same here. I'm lucky if I go to a bar once a year and even -I- know what a "no colors" sign means. I also live in a really small town, but we have one biker bar that has one of those sogns. It keeps mainstreet from getting ugly with fights.

I had a co-worker from Puerto Rico get bent out of shape years ago because we were talking about the color commentator of a sports telecast the night before.

"Why does it matter what race they are?"

"What? No seriously, WTF are you talking about? ... Oh. OH! ... Uh, let me explain things..."

His English was nearly flawless, but every now and again he'd have one of these strange broad misunderstandings that you'd expect from a student of a language.

It does.  Unless you're retarded enough to see racism everywhere.  I think people are getting dumber by the day.

My, a special snowflake getting offended over a "racist" sign that's not actually racist?

People falsely seeing a racist agenda where none exists because they have been programmed to by the liberal media and the Democratic Party to see racism everywhere?

Ya don't say.

Never seen that happen before.

The more the "RACIST" word is thrown about, the less white people are going to respond to it.

Same with a Mexican co-worker of mine.  She once asked me how my weekend was on our work instant messenger and I said, "I worked my fingers to the bone."  She was shocked.  "You mean you could actually see the bone?!?!"

We're working on her idioms.  She's coaching me on my Spanish.

I have an uncle in the Detroit Renegades, so of course I'm familiar with the term.

Same with comparisons to Hitler, but those seem to be holding steady.

/Hitler's ultimate redemption in the eyes of history lies in Godwin's Law. Discuss.
