I never understood How PETA can take themselves so seriously, they're like the only ones who do. They are kind of entertaining though in a facepalm sort of way.

does that mean all the other chicken truck crash sites throughout the country are to be ignored?

I loved Church's Chicken so much when it was in DC. But, I got salmonella from the one that used o tbe on Georgia Ave. near Howard University.

I think the chicken at Popeyes is better, but Church's is one of the few fast food places that serves fried okra, and I can't ever get enough fried okra.

They're attention whores, trying to attract like-minded attention whores.  Nothing more.

Yeah, wihtout their feathers, they are really not pretty animals. The resemblance to a sea turtle is startling...  ;-)

Do they have a memorial for the dogs that are euthanized in their "no kill" shelters?

What's next, going to the jungle or wherever and putting up memorials for animals killed by other animals?

I think they should put up a memorial Mega Church. After all, Gainesville only has about a dozen of them.

I think it goes on the corner of Fairmont and Georgia Ave., NW DC. Make sure there's a shimmering pool of vomit in front of the memorial because it was coming out of both ends. That was a miserable three days.

As an NC native, I must suggest Bojangles. Best fried chicken joint around. Unfortunately, the only one in DC, in Union Station's food court, is pretty awful. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day.

\Their opening was apparently attended by a large portion of the NC Congressional delegation.

kbronsito: Do they have a memorial for the dogs that are euthanized in their "no kill" shelters?

I love my meat, but in fairness  I don't think PETA has ever claimed to run a no kill shelter.  In fact they are pretty open about their use of euthanasia.
I'm not sure why you used quotes around "no kill"

It was an accident most fowl. I've been keeping abreast of the story but only found nuggets in the news. I suggest PETA pluck up their courage, confront their opponents this Fryday and tender their list of options.

\Thank you. I'll be here all week.
\\Try the veal.
\\\Unless you are with PETA in which case I suggest you try climbing a flagpole wrapped in concertina wire.

Makes as much sense as those memorials you see dedicated to the poor driving habits of dead loved ones. Except I'd laugh even harder at a chicken memorial.

kbronsito: Do they have a memorial for the dogs that are euthanized in their "no kill" shelters?

Congrats. You're actually dumber than PETA.

Not that it'll make any difference but...

As someone who lives near Gainesville, I can tell you that everyone around here thinks this is beyond stupid.  Almost as stupid as the law in Gainesville that states it is against the law to eat fried chicken with a fork.

Sounds like one of those obscure laws that someone, at some point, might have thought was a great idea at the time.

Reminds me of an old Superman comic where the Prankster was ticking off Superman by purposely breaking said obscure laws...like putting pennies in his ears in a certain state.

Nah, it's always been a joke.  They made the law in the early 60's to get the city's name out as the chicken capital of the world.  There are chicken houses all over the area.  Hell, all over Georgia.  i ride a motorcycle and you can trust me that I know they're around lol.

It is like scientology. The only ones who are not laughing uproariously at them are the ones involved with the organisation.

I say we have a yearly newsworthy chicken fry at or near the spot in celebration.
