I'm sick of this false dichotomy.  There are more than two sides to every issue.

Who is the libbiest lib who ever libed? We need to know that for the election in 2016.

Whoever runs as a Dem in 2016 regardless of their credentials will be the libbiest lib who ever libbed.

The most liberal list is hilarious.

Three ones, seven fives, and the top fifteen ends with three thirteens.

Because People in power are Stupid: I'm sick of this false dichotomy.  There are more than two sides to every issue.

Only two sides to an issue I can live with.  After all, when it comes down to whether or not to vote on a bill, a congressman or senator can only choose between 'aye' and 'not aye'.

The thing that's really poisonous to our current system is all the people who think there are only two sides to every issue taken all together.  That if you deviate from the party line by one single iota, you are literally Hitler and need to be primaried by someone who is more rigidly conformist.

Barry Lyndon's Annuity Cheque: The most liberal list is hilarious.

And zero Elizabeth Warrens.  I guess she's no lib.

Those lists show just how divided and goofy Wisconsin is: Senator Baldwin is tied for 5th most liberal and Senator Johnson is 9th most conservative.

Should we study it out?

The methodology is completely specious - it presumes that voting with a Democratic majority is "liberal."

I'm under no delusion that the non-republicans are always right, but the republicans have worked themselves into an "always wrong" situation.

Gohmert didn't make the list of most conservative representatives? WTF I don't even....

As for "most conservative", I'll just use the Heritage Action scorecard.

Yeah, thank you for correcting that. The left has its share of stupid assholes (looking at you Feinstein) but the modern Republican Party has made stupidity into an art form.

The 15 Most Conservative Senators:
1) James Risch, R-Idaho (who?)
2) Michael Enzi, R-Wyoming (again, who?)
3) Tim Scott, R- South Carolina (WTF, three "who"'s in a row?)
4) Ted Cruz, R-Texas

Well, she's only been in office for a year, so there really hasn't been enough votes for her to be on the list.

What's REALLY interesting is the list of representatives. I assumed I would have heard of all of them, but on BOTH lists, I've never heard of about 90% of those people.

I moved to WI from MN.  WI currently makes my home state (home to Michelle Bachmann) look sane by comparison.  Minnesota and WI get compared all the time.  WI has a lower "total" tax burden, yes.   Lower sales tax, low state income tax, and lower fees for many services.  HOWEVER Minnesota consistently has a better quality of life, more job prospects, better economy, and better education than WI.  You get what you pay for.

Ah, National Journal, who ranked John Kerry most liberal in 2003 and Barack Obama most liberal (and I believe Hillary Clinton second-most liberal) in 2007 over actual socalist Bernie Sanders.

Of the US political spectrum. I'm pretty sure none of them would be considered 'far left' anywhere else in the West.

The methodology for Most Conservative:

Please enter the number of bills you've sponsored to repeal ObamaCare. ____

Please enter the number of times you've voted 'Yea' on a bill to repeal ObamaCare. ____

Then they add those two numbers together and divide by Benghazi.

I can't help but noticing that all of the 15 most conservative Senators are male, and around half of the most liberal Senators are female.

/how's that war on women working out for you, conservatives?

2014-02-06 01:20:43 PM
Back when I could still tolerate listening to Rush (a little over a decade ago), I remember him saying in one sentence how liberals substituted government for their religion.  A few minutes later, he was complaining that the only thing worse than a liberal was a moderate, because moderates obviously didn't have core beliefs and would support policies depending on what was popular or convenient.

Yeah, the crux of the echo chamber claimed that it was liberals who saw government as their religion, but then said centrism was the same as apostasy.

And people wonder why we can't get anything done in this country.  The ideological-purity-at-any-cost mentality has ruined the practice of politicking.

Their current strategy relies on the notion that women won't remember what they said, and won't hold a grudge.

lilbjorn: The 15 most liberal representatives.  AKA 15 congresspeople who are never given air time by the "liberal" media.

Well they can't put them on the Sunday news shows. President John McCain has to be given air time every week, and then they balance that with a moderate from the other side like Rand Paul or Reince Preibus.

That leaves no time for the the commies.

2014-02-06 01:34:08 PM
