Bonanza Jellybean: I was expecting this article to be about cataplexy. I have a narcoleptic friend who wuffered cataplexy, and if she got worked up emotionally, she would just kinda slump over.

The missus has narcolepsy / cataplexy. Mostly her limbs go weak when startled, which means a lot of dropping things and more broken dishes than the typical family goes through. She's had a few total immobile collapses that have lasted a few minutes, scary the first time it happened. She isn't severe enough to require a padded helmet fortunatley.

She also can't work out with overhead weights or with certain gym machines since events are more likely when the body is revved up, sucks to be mangled in the elliptical.
