Seems legit.

Do you not get religious authoritarians?  To these police, there's "good people" and "bad people", and the "bad people" aren't really like them, because they're bad.  Appreciation for this kind of hypocrisy isn't native to people whose natural instincts are to fear the different and obey authority.

They are kicking out the GOP?!

I'm confused here subby.
They say this without irony?
The removal will be without irony? or ?

The irony being that the existence of a "religious police force" is pretty much the apogee of institutionalized religious extremism.

"But what do you need a financial advisor for? Twenty years ago you had the highest Gross National Product in the world, now you're tied with Albania. Your second largest export is secondhand goods, closely followed by dates which you're losing five cents a pound on... You know what the business community thinks of you? They think that a hundred years ago you were living in tents out here in the desert chopping each other's heads off and that's where you'll be in another hundred years, so, yes, on behalf of my firm I accept your money."

They don't want their nuts to go fight in Syria or Iraq?  Why?  There's a good chance they'll die there, and if they don't they have identified themselves as nuts, and you can kill them if they try to return.

I don't have an issue with people who follow religion. It's your life, and if you choose to believe "some guy" standing on a pulpit reading from a book that was written in the dark ages, hey, thats your business. I, myself, choose NOT to believe and become just another in a long line of quivering frightened sheeple chanting and praying to someone that never answers, and that you have never, and WILL never see in person. Do you wonder why miracles never happen these days? Seemed like they were a dime a dozen back then. I'll tell you why. Because, that shiat never happened. There was no parting of the red sea, no ark that held 2 of every beast, no flood that covered the earth for 40 days, no magically burning speaking bush that laid down laws, and no virgin that was inseminated by some higher power. The bibles(s) are just a continuation of mans attempt to control man through fear of death and punishment. If you can't see that...you are beyond helping. The bibles(s), no matter what kind, were written by men, to control, and have power over, man. And cash, that too, because God needs it.

/meh, whatever, if it gives you a false sense of "god protecting myself and those i love" then more power to you.

Funny Onion article I read the other day about Saudi Arabia.

Farking savages. Come on PC crowd, give me grief for calling them savages while they abuse women, homosexuals, and anyone they think is a "witch" while enforcing their their primitive, outdated joke of a "moral code". I WILL NOT subscribe to cultural relativism. These people are objectively and quantifiably savage barbarians who deserve our scorn, our ridicule, and our sanctions.

I could only just imagine if they recreated the same scene with Alexander Siddig in his Star Trek: Deep Space Nine costume! :-P

Will they really be removed, or reassigned, or reclassified, like the U.s. does to the military, by making them "advisors".

Do they even have a non-religious police?

Look, argue against it all you want, but the Saudi religious police are firmly opposed to irony and that's not going to change.  Of course, they could remove extremists from their ranks in an ironic way, but they simply won't do it.

You realize that the "PC crowd" you're railing against would probably agree with you for exactly those same reasons, right? That most of the "PC crowd" would like women, homosexuals, and religious minorities to have equal rights and to be protected from abuse everywhere in the world? That these religious asshats are the majority in Saudi Arabia, and are probably spewing bile and spittle about "the PC crowd" in Saudi Arabia demanding that western customs like equal rights for women be respected?

Or, to put it more succinctly, watchoutwegotabadassoverhere.jpg.

What we need is a war on extremism.  An all-out war, with no quarter given.

And again you demonstrate a complete inability to understand anyone who doesn't agree with you.

More generally, it's funny how often Conservatives seem to think that Liberals love Muslims.  I guess the logic is "Muslims are our enemy and Liberals are also our enemy, so therefore they must be best friends!"  If you can call that logic.

Newsflash: Most liberals don't love Muslims any more than we love atheists or Zoroastrians.  We simply don't automatically hate them for being non-Christian.   We also, yes, tend to abhor folks who abuse women, homosexuals, and anyone they think is a "witch" while enforcing their primitive, outdated joke of a "moral code".  We just don't limit ourselves to Muslims or non-Americans when we do it.

News flash: not a conservative, not a liberal, and not limited in my dislike to just Saudis. And I didn't mention Muslims. Or liberals. Or non-christians. Being a staunch, almost militant atheist myself I would consider that to be a pretty self-deceiving conflict of interest.

The only groups I mentioned are the Saudis and the politically-correct cultural relativism crowd. If your not part of either of those groups, congratulations! We probably agree on the issue.

But you definitely don't have an issue with them.  Sort of like when someone starts a sentence off with "I don't mean to be rude but..."
