"The suffering endured by the children in the Syrian Arab Republic since the outset of the conflict, as documented in this report, is unspeakable and unacceptable," The UN stated and warned both sides the more strongly worded letters will be coming.

2014-02-05 09:10:09 AM
So your creepy Uncle Ted is recruiting children for a rebel army? Is your last name Cruz?

2014-02-05 09:20:50 AM
Well, more evidence for glass parking lot.

I thought we all knew that there was no good side to this thing. Didn't we all know that?

Well that makes me totally re-think my view of Obama's policy on shipping weapons to the Syrian rebels.
You go mr peace prize president. Another sage policy.

Uncle Ted was not really an abuser he was in show business.  You are just judging him by your 1970s moral standards. Plus the body of his artistic works clearly outweigh any legal issues.

2014-02-05 09:28:03 AM
But my uncle Ted is Syrian....and, well, sort of a rebel, at least when it comes to child abuse laws.

2014-02-05 09:36:31 AM
these people are not our friends, they aren't really even people
throwbacks, they have chosen to devolve
and we KNEW this from the start

that said, the un has a horrid farking history of child sexual abuse when their 'peacekeepers' move into areas
and they have openly supported terrorists, placing bad people on their human rights comissions.
so screw them in the neck as well

This headline put a smile on my face, just thinking of all the people who actually do have a creepy  uncle named "Ted" and think that the headline was directed right at them.

Islam is awsome

To be fair, raping them is a completely different thing from recruiting them into a paramilitary force.

The latter actually gives them a chance if Assad moves in.

I notice a lack of "Never Forget" Holocaust survivors not saying jack shait about all of this.
Never again, indeed.

This is different from the US shipping a 15 year old to Gitmo, how?

Yup devising foreign/national security policy is hard today's ally can be tomorrow's enemy and vice versa.

FTA: Saudi Arabia and Qatar have backed the Supreme Military Command with weapons, training, money and intelligence, while the United States and Britain have given non-lethal aid, such as like communications and transportation equipment.

I think I know who the writer of the article is.

I think a more appropriate question is how is the 15 year old sent to Gitmo is any different than a fifteen year old child soldier in Syria.

The 15 year old in Gitmo at least gets water. Of course, he's strapped to a board when he gets it, but beggers can't be choosers.

Yeah I'm sure nuking them would stop the child abuse. No kids, no problem.

That just goes to show you how farking stupid and barbaric living conditions are there.  Anybody with more than 1/4 the general mental capacity would realize that children do not rule the world, nor make policy and their behavior toward children is barbaric.

/And I don't even really like children...

I notice a lack of "Israel is Apartheid" screamers not saying jack shiat about anything that happens in the region unless it's Israel. Perhaps you can vent your displeasure in the next "Palestinian kicked off Israeli bus due to expired transfer therefore Jews are the new Nazis" thread.

Meanhwhile the injured are dumped on the Israel/Syria border not the Lebanon/Syria border because those doing the dumping know that Israel will care for the injured whereas the injured's chances of survival with Hezbollah are somewhat iffy.

The whole lot of them need to either make peace and open holyland as an amusement/waterpark.
Or
Get nuked
