They are just running through all the "-less" words in the dictionary. They've already used 'Feckless', 'Emotionless', 'Soulless', and 'Green Cardless'.

I'm confused as to why "'s breathless accusations of Obama being a 'lawless' president" appears in the headline.

They meant that he was a Lucy Lawless President in that he has lesbian affairs at Renaissance festivals.  Why won't the media talk about that?

Hey, Ruth Marcus, you might be surprised to know we can actually see you moving the goalposts.

So in 2006 it was "astonishing" that the administration would dodge its "legal responsibilities" through tactics such as reinterpreting the law in a manner consistent with its vision and recess appointments, and now you cite that very conduct as a "precedent" that justifies the increased use of such tactics?

You might want to lower your hem.  Your hack is showing.

Silly people. The Republicans saying these things don't actually believe these things.

Some Republicans are outright liars, while the rest have no farking idea how the law works. This is not news.

That's not moving the goalposts. Is it not legal precedent?

It's fine to complain about it... even call it 'astonishing' and be correct. Calling it 'lawless' is farking retarded.

I don't think that's actually true anymore; politicians come from the "base" after all.

There seems to be a nontrivial number of True Believers in Congress and State legislatures.

Remember when Karl Rove disbelieved Obama's win in Ohio? Or Romney brought up some demonstrably untrue Fox News stuff in a debate (the origin of "Please proceed")?

More and more, they are their base.

They tell lies and sell propaganda that their base believes and gets riled up about and then someone from their base runs for office and steps it up a notch. Repeat ad infinitum.

Presidential power tends to be a one-way ratchet; few presidents voluntarily cede power that a predecessor has accumulated.

Really? Obama has practically begged the congress to pass laws outlining limits on the NSA, drone strikes, etc.

He's probably bluffing though since it's clear that the only thing they're interested in voting on is another 500 repeals of Fartbongocare.

Yes, they do seem to be falling into the trap doublethink was used to work around in 1984 - the point is you have to simultaneously believe all the lies and propaganda you are your party spout implicitly, while also knowing the truth so you avoid making stupid mistakes based on lies.

No, shiat is too solid for them. They are full of Jeebus, which as you know is a myth invented by 6th century goat farkers in some savage middle eastern country know for its goat farkers and pedophiles.
