Jeno Mouton, of Houston, allegedly told a TSA supervisor that "he would rather vent than to come back and shoot up the place"

So, a TSA employee getting arrested for the same empty non-threat that the TSA hassles citizens for all the time.  At Bush Airport.   Irony tag?

His supervisor told police she spoke with Mouton several minutes after he made the initial statement and said Mouton refused to recant it, then went on to repeat it several more times during their conversation.

You take that back!

I wonder if I would be given the option to recant, or if they'd just put me on a plane to Gitmo instead of my intended destination.

FRy him and shut down the TSA.

2014-02-04 06:54:39 PM
Will the TSA claim they're effective by taking credit for "stopping a terrorist activity"?

Gonna shoot up the ol' bush, ;eh?

It's because he's black, isn't it?
THAT'S RACIST

What a sheepish guy.

The day when the police arrest TSA security guards for the crimes they commit, is the day there will be no more TSA agents, as they will all be in prison.

For what it's worth... I was surprised he was black. I expected a creepy cracker when I clicked.

Exactly who pointed out that he is a law abiding permit to carry individual?
That makes him a threat?

TOLD YA SO!

/should tatoo it on the forehead of every gun carrier, perhaps a big red A, oh, taken, well, I'll think of sumptin.

How is "he would rather vent than to come back and shoot up the place" a threat exactly?

I'd rather he vent than shoot up the place too.

If you recant, they'll strangle you before burning you at the stake.

He used the words "shoot up the place". Context is irrelevant. They're as overly sensitive as the Fark filter.

If he was on the secure side of the airport and was known to be a gun owner, how could he be a threat?  He went through security and all unless TSA security is ineffective?

I know, right? Not a day goes by when my boss doesn't make me angry and I rant to him about wanting to shoot up the place or set it on fire. Of course he understands I'm just venting because he's not an overly sensitive Nancy-boy like all the pants-wetting plebs on Fark.

Real Men vent with threats of violence when they get angry. Man the fark up, boys!

Given that he's of a certain demographic that statistically skews toward physical violence, I'd say they probably made the right call.

See, the thing is, that would be an actual threat.

Not guilty.

Who wouldn't rather "vent" than shiat up the place?

Exactly. This could lead to something insane like somebody running around with a gun shaped breakfast pastry. Can you imagine the chaos that would cause? It could interrupt nap time, or heaven forbid, milk and cookie time.

Well, you can't blame the police. They didn't like to disturb his privacy.

Without looking at the article I'll guess he is white, Republican and dumb as half a brick. But, of course, that is redundant.

2014-02-04 08:19:58 PM
Just words.  A real person doesn't say anything, then just acts. There are many cases where peoples tongues get them in trouble.

2014-02-04 08:22:51 PM
It took the cops 10 days to get to the front of the line.

And then they had to stop to take their shoes off.

2014-02-04 08:22:59 PM
But I digress. Revenons à notre Mouton.

It turns out I was wrong. He is black, so there's a little brown bat's hope in Hell of him being a Republican or let off with a warning. He looks about as lively as an Egyptian pharoah though, so maybe he is dumb as half a brick, or at least a block of black granite. He'd make a lovely statue to tell the truth.

I suppose there's always work at the Post Office for a well-qualified ex-TSA employee.

screw all your stupid posts and answer the most OBVIOUS question!

Did they they do a full cavity search of him?  Maybe 3 times....just to be sure?

With a group as large as them, there's bound to be at least one in their group.

What an idiot, though.

They weren't in a rush to arrest him cause his occupation pegged him as ineffective?

/likely

I doubt that stories like this are going to be less frequent.
People complain a lot about the things the TSA subjects them to - but can you imagine DOING that job?
Day in?
Day out?
Every miserable, bleak, empty, hate-filled, mockingly barren day of your God-forsaken life?
How long would you last?

2014-02-04 11:21:15 PM
So he expressed an interest in talking out his problems instead of getting violent, and that's a crime?

I have a feeling that there are details missing from the story. TFA says he repeated his "shoot up the place" comment a few times. I wonder what else was going on.

OOhhh, a small possibility exists that there is a back story.
Small, but there is a chance.

Well, it is so often the way, sir, too late one thinks of what one *should* have said. Sir Thomas More, for instance -- burned alive for refusing to recant his Catholicism -- must have been kicking him- self, as the flames licked higher, that it never occurred to him to say, "I recant my Catholicism."

He said "thAn", not "thEn". It was not a threat.
