I love the guy in the article with his little sign, "Repent of this Wickedness ACTS 8:22"

CONTEXT:

18Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money, 19saying, "Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit." 20But Peter said to him, "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money! 21"You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God. 22"Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you.

Nothing to do with gays or even sexuality in general.  It had to do with paying money to obtain religious favors.  Which, as I see it, is the entire purpose of church these days - pay your tithe, kiss Hank's ass, get a million dollars later.

Typical god-botherer stuff - taking their own holy texts out of context to suit their own purpose, and completely ignoring the lesson itself..

letrole: Homosexual marriage is pursued as a means to an end. Homosexuals, by an exceedingly large margin, do not wish to get married or to form civil unions. Rather, they want to be accepted as normal. Their hope is that public approval of homosexuality will follow the legal establishment of homosexual marriages.

Citation f*cking needed, asshole. I know I'd like to be able to get married someday, whether I fall in love with a man or woman. What makes you think I'm so different from everyone else?

A lot of same sex marriages were slipping through the system before, anyway. After all, they both wear skirts, and with some of their women, it's frankly hard to tell.

Oh - and:

Mr Mason tabled further amendments, including one calling for recognition that "a belief in marriage as a voluntary union between one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others for life is a belief worthy of respect in a democratic society". He said: "This has been the prevailing view in Scotland for centuries, and may now be considered a minority view or even old fashioned, but it is an integral tenet of faith for many Christians, Muslims and others as well as the belief of many of no faith position at all." Mr Mason added: "We have seen volunteers in the third sector removed from the board for publicly supporting traditional marriage."

Name them.  Go ahead.  I dare you.
