Jeez, even I'm not willing to compare the Tea Party's actions to what's going on the Ukraine, subby.

2014-02-04 08:34:45 AM
Got to the end of the first sentence. Was anyone able to make it further? I feel as though I need to be derp-decontaminated now.

Pat Buchanan? That jackass is still alive?

Tea party has mob rule?

Brostorm: Tea party has mob rule?

He meant "slob rule". Have you seen those people?

2014-02-04 08:46:50 AM
Sure it is.  Dangerous for the mobs...

2014-02-04 08:47:24 AM
Oh shut up Pat. You haven't been relevant since 1994.

2014-02-04 08:48:53 AM
He seems to think that the protesters are just stooges for the EU or the US, and have no valid rationale to protest on their own.

2014-02-04 08:54:53 AM
good to hear a proud patriot stick up for our entirely trustworthy ally putin.

2014-02-04 08:56:42 AM
It seems like the only thing conservatives love more than accusing everyone else of being old-school Russian commies is Vladimir Putin: an old-school Russian commie.

2014-02-04 08:56:52 AM
If subby thinks people in hoverrounds holding misspelled american revolutionary slogans is mob rules I wonder what they think is going on in Kiev?  End of times type stuff?

Pat Buchanan is a weird combination of old-school isolationist and theocrat.  There are times when his remarks about American Imperialism and us getting involved in foreign affairs that are none of our business, make a legitimate point.

This is not one of those times.  His analysis of Egypt is laughable, and he seems to forget that this administration has been a vast improvement on the previous administration's slavish devotion to neoconservative globalism.  Pat is also wishing really hard that the world still worked like it did in the 19th century.

"Keep f*cking that chicken Kiev"?

"The United States appears now to be collaborating with Europe in bringing about the neutering or overthrow of that democratically elected government. Military coups, a la Cairo, and mob uprisings, a la Kiev-are these now legitimate weapons in the arsenal of democracy? Military coups, a la Cairo, and mob uprisings, a la Kiev-are these now legitimate weapons in the arsenal of democracy?"

Oh FFS. He'd have to be a frigging moron to seriously believe that the US has never been involved in installing a puppet government until Obama and Kerry came along. Oh, wait...

2014-02-04 09:03:45 AM
As a Ukrainian, fark you Pat Buchanan. You know why you get to say the stupid shiat you say? Because dictator Obama didn't take away YOUR freedom of speech, farkstick

"What did Yanukovych do to deserve ouster by the street? He chose Russia over Europe."

Why didn't he chose Ukraine.
By saying this the author seems to be implying that Ukraine is nothing more than a puppet state for someone it's just that they disagree on who to be a puppet state for. I don't believe that that is the case.
Shows what little respect the author has for democracy and the freedoms for people to decide their own countries future.

Conservatives decry Obama as a dictator, but cup Putin's balls whenever they can.

Well, the ones who managed to get elected to Congress certainly need a slap upside the head, that's for sure...

Mob rule is generally popular rule. The Tea Party is the unpopular wing of an unpopular party. They've spent the last few years trying to tamp down voting because most people dislike them.

He's their strongest tie to a time when their anti-communism actually meant something.  It's like being able to go to a tribute band concert where one of the original backup guitarists comes out and plays a surprise set.  Fond memories of a time when they were younger, better looking, and relevant.

Of course conservatives love Putin... he is their dream leader. Homophobic, xenophobic, executes journalists, imprisons feminists, butchers Muslims, likes to take his shirt off and wrestle young men.

Please, the tea party is a bunch of lazy, whiny, old twats who wouldn't lift a remote to change the channel from fox news, let alone actually revolt in the streets.

If anyone in another country heard about what the tea party was "revolting" against, they would laugh.

This. It's possible that Putin's policies in Russia are something that they want put in place in the US.

But on the other hand, they denounce Communism, Socialism, etc. And, as you already said, Putin is an old-school Commie.

I had scarcely ventured a depth of two paragraphs into the article before the existential horror of knowing I, a man who had always considered myself to be of sound mind, was reading an article by Pat Buchanan sank it's dark tendrils into the very core of my mind and forced my trembling hand to close the browser tab.

Might someone with steadier nerves than I please post a summary so that I, and those like me, may also join in mocking this unholy, eldritch tome without risking our very sanity?

So far, it has been extremely dangerous in the Ukraine.

Of course this moron would want to slobber Putin's knob. All these moronic conservatives and tea 'tards want to wet Putin up and let him slip in their pooper. They love the guy. Never mind he is exactly what they accuse the President of and would jail their sorry, ignorant asses in a heartbeat.

And I think what the Ukraine is doing is awesome. Don't fark with Ukrainians. They held out against Stalin until 1954 with partisan fighting.

Obama and Kerry support the protesters in Ukraine- therefore they are bad.

It's your typical kneejerk reaction from the GOP. I know my Teahadist dad has been looking at the photos from Kiev and mentioning how we need to do that in DC, but if he read this piece and realized Obama was 'meddling like in Egypt' he'd pivot in an instant and call them all terrorists.

/family visits are fun
//surprised Buchanan didn't mention Benghazi

Pat's got a real problem. He has to ramp up the rhetoric to distract his strong incest drive, because his sister is so hot.

Unpossible. Florida Governor Jeb Bush would NEVER rig the election in Texas Governor (and fellow Republican) George W. Bush's favor. You make it sound like they're related somehow...

I'm someone who feels that hating the Russians got old the second they sent us fake lesbians making out on stage but anyone who can't understand just why most Ukrainians want to tell the Kremlin to go to hell needs to smoke less bath salt.

All during the Cold War, faithful old Pat Buchanan was fighting the good fight for truth, justice and the red white n blue.

Does he realize he's now taking a ginormous shiat on Ronald Reagan's grave by siding with Putin?

How can he sleep at night?
