Then where did all the pink, slimy goo from the inside of my rubber chicken go?

2014-02-03 08:54:45 PM
Technically, beaks, feet, and feathers are chicken

MaudlinMutantMollusk: Technically, beaks, feet, and feathers are chicken

I told my son that all beef includes eyes and butt to get him to stop begging me to take him there.  Worked like a charm.  Now he wants nothing to do with fast food.

/I still get my grease fix at lunch

In that the former looks like ground meat and the latter looks like unnatural "pink goop," yes. The first one is entirely more palatable.

If you have a meat grinder and a rolling pin, you can make your own chicken McNuggets at home. You just need to find some cookie cutters shaped like a ball, a bell, a boot and a bow tie. In other words, Christmas cookie cutters: round, bell, Christmas stockin and bow ties.

If that pink goop is meat at all, it is clearly almost completely fat with a bit of blood, chicken hearts or liver adding the pink. I can't imagine anybody eating that without knowing the difference between it and ground chicken breast. Have you ever seen raw hamburger? How about the lowest grade that is half fat?

One remark:  blood is not Kosher. Jews could not eat McDo Chicken McNuggets if they contained that much blood.

Check for that Kosher label, whenever you shop.

K or M in a little circle. You can see them both on a lot of products because there are two different certifying bodies with different standards.

Yes they could. Nothing would happen. No lightning bolts, no earthquakes, nothing.

Well, yeah. One is chicken with clear steps on how it got there and the other is an unidentified pink slime.

I don't want to turn this into one of those threads, but the burgers at McD's upset my stomach pretty badly. McNuggets are about all I can eat there.

If they use any milk products in their buns, that would explain the indigestion and subsequent liquid bowel matter fountains I experience.

Damn you, lactose intolerance!

McDonald's chicken is as much chicken as as a fruit drink 'made from real fruit'.

Or Ginger Ale 'made from real ginger'.

It may have a little bit of the real stuff in there, but that doesn't count.

Now that seems crazy.  What kid rides a bike that far?

I don't know how much chicken they put in fruit drinks or even what that sentence is supposed to mean but if you're saying those McNuggets are mostly real chicken then I agree.

All chickens aren't equal.  They still use birds that can't turn around and spend their entire life shiatting on the bird in the cage below them.

As long as the McDonald's worker doesn't forget the BBQ sauce, I don't care.

Funny how they advertise the nuggets as being made of 100% breast meat, but they would taste better if they contained a certain proportion of dark meat as well.

Americans are stupid and like bland, flavorless food though, so sell 100% white breast meat at a premium in the US because it gives a false sense of quality and then ship the dark meat over to Asia where they appreciate its superior flavor and make even more money that way.

McNuggets used to be a combination of white and dark meat.

Last time I checked McDonald's chicken nuggets are still only about 50% chicken, with the rest being corn in form or another.

It's pretty well documented in "The Omnivore's Dilemma".

Why the shiat would you put fryer birds (or whatever they are) in cages? It's not like there are eggs to collect.

Not this one, as since I can get boneless, skinless chicken thighs, that is what I go with.  For chicken soup, I use thigh leg quarters and boil them till the meat falls off the bone, then pull out bones and skins before adding the rest of the ingredients.  I don't mind them charging more for the breast, that keeps the rest cheaper for me.

100% breast meat (but they add the skin back in according to the video) chicken sausages breaded and deep fried.

Thigh meat is the best part! Well, the second best, but I've never seen the oysters sold off the bone.

And now I want to make crock pot chicken...

Doesn't anyone remember the days when we would celebrate the noble savages for not wasting any part of the animals they killed by eating all the flesh that on the creature and using all the skin and bones for practical purposes. How civilized we have become in our snobbery.
