Mugato: Dude looks like Tim Burton was force fed pork rinds for 20 years,
Dancin_In_Anson: Saw then at ACL in October. I was very pleasantly surprised. Never had been much of a fan but that show changed my mind.
Gunderson: When I saw The Cure, they had a show that was on par with RUSH.and last I heard, Robert Smith refuses to play "Killing an Arab" in concert
ZeroCorpse: Gunderson: When I saw The Cure, they had a show that was on par with RUSH.and last I heard, Robert Smith refuses to play "Killing an Arab" in concertThe last show I was at, he played it (sort of), but in the show before that, he skipped it.The reason is because STUPID PEOPLE don't realize it's a song about The Stranger by Albert Camus (it's a book, folks), and in the post-9/11 world, these idiots were using it as an anthem for their hatred of Arabs. Robert no longer wished for his song to be a hate anthem, so he briefly stopped playing it, but then switched around the lyrics to "kissing an Arab", among others.
420Gabriel: Saw them at Coachella a few years back and they were absolutely horrible.
Brainsick: 420Gabriel: CoachellaThat was your first mistake
derpy: how depressing.
ZeroCorpse: Robert Smith says The Cure are releasing a new albumOh, subby...The Cure IS releasing a new album. Not "are"... "is".The Cure is a band, a single unit, and therefore "is" would be the proper word to use in that sentence. You would use "are" if you said "The members of The Cure" instead of just "The Cure".The members of The Cure are releasing a new album. The Cure is releasing a new album.[static1.fjcdn.com image 300x188]
xria: The shoal was moving north. The shoal were darting in all directions.
darkjezter: Never been a fan of them. But if they stop in my area and tickets aren't too expensive maybe I'll go to one of their live shows. It's been a while since I've hooked up with a goth chick.
ZeroCorpse: a single unit, and therefore "is" would be the proper word to use in that sentence
Nabb1: Subby isn't wrong. In England, it is grammatically proper to use the plural form of the verb when referring to a band or sports team or other group of people. So, "The Cure are releasing a new album," and "Arsenal are on top of the Premier League" are perfectly fine.
IntertubeUser: I can't believe that there are people who hate The Cure. But then again, this is Fark.Still listen to Disintegration regularly. I'd argue that it's one of the greatest albums of all-time.
tillerman35: This makes me feel like I am young again.
