Basketball should just accept that the Olympics is the most important international hoops tourney. I'd be surprised if US basketball sent their A or B team.

The World Championships are the perfect time to integrate the younger stars that don't have the Olympic experience that the other players have. Like how Kevin Durant got a chance to be the guy on the 2010 team.

This time I'd build around guys like Paul George, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, and Andre Drummond.

According to what I've read, winning this tournament means automatic qualification for the Rio Olympics. So they have to send at least a B team and maybe a mix of A and B teams.

Don't win this and they have to play a continental qualifying tournament next year.

This being the ranking basketball thread, and one with somewhat of an international theme, I'd just like to say that I haven't seen much of Giannis Antetokounmpo before tonight and holy shiat does he have terrifying potential.

/sorry for the threadjack

Yes on the first three. No on Drummond unless he can get his free throw shooting to at least 60%.

It's okay, guys. Turkey has a Milwaukee Buck on the team. Everything's going to be just fine.

Kevin Love and Kevin Durant both want to play.  AKA the West's starting forwards for the all star team.  I think we'll be good
