This is America. It's a free country. You don't get to tell me what language I have to sing my songs in. If you don't like it, get the hell out.

My husband made a similar comment, but he was being sarcastic.

Many of them thought it was the national anthem. These people are so patriotic that they cannot accurately recognize the national anthem.

As I'm sure the Fark IndependentsTMwill be out in force to explain how the backlash against the ad has nothing to do with Republicans, who as we all know are nothing if not tolerant to the diverse cultural and racial makeup of our nation, I feel I should link this response by well known Republican standard-bearer Allen West.

Why are right-wingers so threatened by different languages anyway? Are they afraid people are talking about them?

I'm conflicted that I now feel like defending a product I dislike.

I'm sure they will blame that on it being in different languages. How could they possibly know what song it was?

These words and the words in the commercial were not written only for the Kochs, but for the Peps as well.

In other news, companies manipulate consumers to turn their 30 second advertisements into extended discussions that revolve around their products. Congrats, everybody.

You're several decades late with that bit of breaking news. But what else are we gonna talk about? Too bad about Philip Seymour Hoffman some more?

Well we'll all have forgotten about this Coke commercial in a couple of days. The Broncos' humiliation will last and last.

They're going to throw a hissy over something. Might as well as make it easy so they don't hurt themselves finding something to be outraged over. After all they probably canceled their health insurance out of spite over ACA

Chik-Fil-A hates the homogays. Coke loves foreigners and terrorists and hates white people. You're mixing hate messages.

Well they couldn't get mad about the cheerios commercial or that'd prove the libs were right.

I'm just worried them occupy hooligans have infiltrated the right trying to get conservatives to boycott fine, upstanding corporations like coca cola

I didn't see it, don't care. Having a twitter account is a horrible idea anyway, nobody will know if you you're trolling or being sarcastic, EXCEPT your intended audience. And if you aren't trolling and are a racist or bigot or whatever, well I hope you live in a right-to-fire state when your words get blown nationwide.

I liked the coke commercial where the machines were linked between India and Pakistan.

Boycott Coke.  Thus resulting in thousands of layoffs in Atlanta, home of Coke, which leads to more racist bigot Teabag rednecks being unemployed.

Fine my me so long as we get to deny them the social safety net they hate too.

The questions that map always brings up for me are:

1. Why is the area around St. Louis a bastion of 'Soda' in the midst of Coke/Pop territory

and

2. What do the areas that go with 'other' call it?

That's a bit of a misdirection. In the South when you're asked to bring "cokes" to a party event etc. They mean all generic coca cola corporation products. So, it is correct as a Fanta, or a Fresca is a "Coke" product and are 'cokes', so the 'what flavor coke' is correct. Especially when you compound it with fountain drinks that would put in cherry and other flavorings on demand.

"Coke" in the South isn't limited to only products by the Coca-Cola Company, but it also certainly wouldn't include things like Powerade that are actually Coke products. Coke means soda, pretty much.

Yeah, it was my understanding that in the south, you ordered a Pepsi "Coke", a Root Beer "coke", a 7-up "Coke", etc.

Which makes about as much sense as calling all cereals "Kellogg's".
