A little back story.  I have been living in Denver since 2005, but I HATE the Broncos.  I have been a Raiders fan since I was 6 years old and saw the Raiders CRUSH the Redskins in Super Bowl 18.  My little sister is currently in Ghana with the peace Corps until September.  I told her to put the word out to all her friends int he Peace Corps that if they can procure for me a "denver Broncos Super Bowl XLVIII Champion t-shirt", I will pay handsomely for it.  How much do you think something like this is worth?  I am vacillating between $300 and $400, since this would probably be the GREATEST thing I could ever own...

Wondering how you blame this on Manning. The Seattle D was out-farking-standing.

Peyton, stop saying Omaha, I think the Seahawks have figured out what it means.

2014-02-02 10:57:13 PM
We knew, from the opening play from scrimmage, that the Bronco offense was out of sync. A safety to open the game? 2-0 the game starts? It took all of twelve seconds. It was "just" two points, but in a way, we could already foresee how it was going to end. You didn't even need a crystal ball. No tea leaves or sheep entrails were required. The remaining 59:48 were going to be nothing more than a painful formality.

Elway firing people for getting blown out of a Super Bowl? That would be rich.

Look up the Washington-Denver and 49ers-Denver games from the late 80s...

Well, Peyton does have the record for most losses in the postseason, so he IS taking Favre's records now.

Seattle shut down - shut fricking down - the greatest offense in NFL history. Forget yards and other silly stats; Denver scored one TD. A few gaffes, but most of the "mistakes" were caused by Seattle. Amazing performance.

As a Bronco fan let me be the (xteenth) to say was a total win for the Hawks, through and through. The Denver D showed up for a bit early but I was a little shocked that PFM was the culprit for a chunk of the fail. Wow, eh? Whattya gonna do?

Congrats to the Hawks and their fans! I had fun with the back and forth on these Fark threads throughout the week. Particularly with IAmRIght, BMulligan and Whizbangthedirtfarmer.

Nice to see a Bronco fan not hating on their team like I'm hearing and seeing all over the place here.  Lots of love to Champ and Peyton.  But tonight was our night.
I'll be happy for a rematch next year!

I have one friend who bet $5 that there would be a safety at some point (netted him $20) and another who bet $10 that either the first or last score would be a safety (apparently it has happened the last 3 SBs), and that one got him $500.

Patriots, Colts, Steelers...

That's the joke. The NFC had a good run in the 90's, but the AFC finally showed up in the 00's.

For some reason, I only thought back till about 2009 but then remembered that the ravens won last year. Hell, the NFC only lost 2 in the last seven Super Bowls.

This isn't on Peyton.  He didn't play particularly well, but the Seahawks were a complete team and their defensive line dominated the Broncos offensive line, while at the same time the Broncos defense was non-existent, which isn't surprising considering they're missing their best corner and best linebacker, among other key players.  Players don't win championships, teams do, which is why Brady hasn't won shiat since the Patriots became Brady Dagron rather than defense and special teams.

It seems that no matter where he goes, Peyton just can't get enough of trying to outdo the Pats with records. Tonight he broke their record for worst Superbowl performance, beating out the Superbowl XX Pats vs. Bears (46-10)

Bravo, Peyton. Way to cap off a record setting year

Not for nuthin, 46-10 is *technically* worse than 43-8.

$0.

I feel you.  This would be totally cool to own.  My concern is if the NFL finds out there's a market for these shirts or if they start showing up on eBay, they'll just destroy the shirts instead of donating them to charity.

If a friend can trade one shirt for another (or even give up 2 shirts to get 1 pony shirt) go for it.  Buy that friend a meal when they back stateside.  Keep money out of it, and certainly DO NOT EVER offer the shirt for sale if you manage to get one.

(That said, it depends on your means.  I'd go 1 week of disposal income after taxes, rent, food, other fixed expenses.  For me, that's about $500. If I were to pay for such a thing.  Which I wouldn't.)

2014-02-02 11:45:19 PM
Welcome back to the NFL, Peyton! I know you missed it playing in the AFC all year, but you got a quick reminder. 4-yard passes don't work too well when guys actually tackle.

/disappointed in the non-shutout
//plus sad that Sherman got hurt

2014-02-02 11:46:03 PM
Now that I have come down off the high, I really wanted the Hawks to win, but I didn't want it to be one of the most one-sided games in history of the game.  I wish the Broncos could have done more, but that Hawks team was insane.  I can only hope these two teams meet for this game next year for something more.  Sorry Ponies...GO GRIFFINS!
