gretzkyscores: WTF???

If there was a garage, then there must have been a house. DNRTFA, so maybe I'm missing something simple and obvious here, but why not just have sex in the house instead of in a cramped car?

They were out in the garage because they were getting high.

Riche: Firethorn: CO works in such a fashion that it shouldn't cause much harm until it displaces enough oxygen carrying capacity to cause damage.

Uhh, no--  Pretty sure you're thinking CO2 or Nitrogen or Helium or other "nontoxic" gasses.

As I understand it CO kills because it attaches to your blood's hemoglobin MUCH stronger than regular oxygen, progressively destroying your blood's ability to move oxygen to your cells.  Ozone is the same way, only will kill in smaller doses, and you can smell ozone.

Uhh, reread what I said, you just corrected me by saying the same thing I did.  Note that I didn't say 'displaces enough oxygen', such as what happens in nitrogen asphixiation, I said 'displaces enough oxygen carrying capacity', IE the blood's ability to carry and transport oxygen via hemoglobin.  In small enough doses your body is perfectly capable of purging it, but as you say it binds more strongly than oxygen, so it takes time to get rid of it.  As long as there isn't enough of it binding up the hemoglobin so your cells are still getting enough O2 you're fine.
