How about just bringing back MST3K?

Just in time for the release of the restored Manos: The Hands of Fate.

Mike and the bots (without the bots) are still hilarious on Rifftrax and apparently have no reason to stop anytime soon.

Wasn't the MST3K movie actually shorter than a regular episode?

So bad it's good.

We got Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic. We're good.

We talking documentary, I'm thinking straight to Netflix. Course it would mean getting in contact with Jim Mallon, who's gone full arsehole in the past few years.

If it's supposed to be so bad it's, though, this opens the possibility of being so good it's bad.

Is that an opportunity we can afford to pass up?

Movies should NEVER be made intentionally bad. It is not making fun if they are in on it.
The joy is in that they tried in earnest and fell short. Making fun is not just meanness as the creators know that it wasn't what they hoped. It is commiserations with others who have fallen to the seductions of that biatch called life.

Agreed, Minus the sketches at the commercial breaks, the current stuff coming from rifftraxx is indistinguishable from later mst3k episodes.

I dunno about 'Movies should never be mad intentionally bad.'

Have you ever seen 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes'?

And I give props to to the sequel, at least for the scene in which a young George Clooney explains product placement in movies.

What's the best way to enjoy RiffTrax? A way to sync the audio with the video in XBMC would be ideal.

Well i ussually use my ipod for MP3 commentary's which may not be ideal for some people but they only do that with modern movies.

They also do streaming of older movies and shorts with the commentary included. These are the same sort of old, bad movies they did back on MST3k and they're cheap enough they can sell them directly from their web site.

If you make it bad on purpose so you can dub riffs overtop of it, forget it. It sounds like an interesting documentary, and while you can make a doc humorous, having some jagoff dump his riffs all over it with a big blatant eyewink to the camera isn't adding to it, it's making it very irritating to try and follow. Unless it's scripted and very well integrated, forget it.

For the record, we won't be making it bad on purpose. :)
