They need to cross-correlate the violence stats against the all-important sammiches-served metrics.  I believe an inverse relationship exists between sammiches and violence.

After the Huskers multiseason win streak was snapped by ASU in the 90's, the radio reported a significant increase in traffic on the suicide hotlines. Probably also an urban legend or bad statistic interpretation.
