Actually, considering what hordes do to nations, subby might be using the more appropriate homonym.

Well, it's not a very good word anyway because if you are spending your money on politics, you're not hoarding it.

Only the Right Wingers were supposed to benefit from that! Don't you just hate it when Liberals get some benefit from something that was only supposed to benefit the Right Wing?

Even worse, all that liberal money smells like bong water and patchouli..

2014-02-02 10:42:45 AM
The Republicans started this, and now they're upset that the Democrats are playing the same game?  There's an easy fix - a bipartisan agreement to campaign finance reform.  Either everyone spends a ton of money, or everyone is limited to spending only a little money.  Whichever way you want to go, both sides should play by the same rules.

Conservatives are the only people who can morally use these political and financial weapons of mass destruction. Anyone else who does the same is incomprehensibly evil and deserves nothing but scorn.

Sometimes, I read the comments on those townhall articles for the lulz.  Winner of the day:

"THE COUNTRY BETTER GO TO HARD RIGHT-LIBERALISM DOES NOT WORK-FREE MARKET CAPILTISM WORKS. LEARN THAT AMERICA IS NOT A DEMOCRACY, BUT A republic and why they differ-READ YOUR CONSTITUTION WHICH HAS BEEN COMPERMIZED BY BOTH PARTIES".

I'm a gonna get compermized later while watching the big game.

Did the republicans really believe that the democrats wouldn't adopt similar tactics? They aren't stupid, of course the dems were going to use the tools made available to them by the republican changes to the campaign finance laws.

They thought that Scott Walker and their other anarchists in the Rust Belt would have annihilated the unions by now, making the whole issue a moot point.

Remember how derisive the GOP was of the DEMs grassroots fundraising?
Silly goptards.

So is TownHall's point that they want total and complete transparency for all campaign financing, or that they want public financing for all campaigns?

Reality has a liberal bias.

Did anyone else reading that article feel a little sick whenever the author used the word "Liberal"?
Those people have done such a great job using the word  liberal as an insult, that I just assume that the author is biased and using the word as an insult.

It is amazing how the language changes.

Can we start using the word Conservative as an insult?

I don't really think the Democrats have gotten better at campaigning, the Republicans have just gotten so shiatty that they're basically throwing them.  Democrats aren't getting people to not vote Republican, that's 90% the GOP's doing.

Dirty, Filthy, Immoral conservatives sounds like a great name for a hardcore porn movie.

Like, we could get a woman dressed as Sarah Palin to be expanding on the GOP plan for women while a man dressed as Barack Obama sets on a throne over here, and takes a gigantic, watery dump right into her open mouth.

All of which is to say, top Democrats are busy perfecting the dark (money) arts for what is sure to be an expensive presidential election cycle.

The shift might require more liberals to come to terms with expensive elections and the involvement of groups shaped by the Citizens United decision.

If only liberals had spoken up about Citizens United. Where were you when we needed you most, libs?
