"F*ck you, it's February", the new mantra of Hollywood.

"You want good movies? You can see them all at once when we're campaigning for Oscars in December. Until then, we're not even trying."

February is a great time to watch movies.  All the Oscar-bait movies from last December become available for rent, and I can watch them in the comfort of my own home.

Maybe they should have released a movie called "Labor Day" around Labor Day.

Nah that's crazy.

I told my daughter That Awkward Moment looked like it was written by a girl who's never had a boyfriend.

That said, isn't Frozen part of Obama's liberal gay agenda?

You say too soon, I say razor sharp topicality!

This month there are only two movies I sort of want to see:
Vampire Academy
The Lego Movie

2014-02-02 02:01:45 PM
I want to see the Lego Movie and Robocop, one looks awesome and the other just because I want to see how they fark it up.

Oh yeah, Robocop does come this month. For some reason thought it was next month.

So Frozen is still pulling #3 at the box office, but the DVD release is 6 weeks away ?  I wonder if they miscalculated it's staying power.

/ Took the kid to see it last week.  Pretty good.

Yeah the Lego Movie does seem interesting. Though I wish they got even more than the DC character involved.

From what I read, this weekend Disney actually re-relaxed it as a new sing-along version that has the lyrics on screen with a bouncing snowflake. If this works, it could actually stay in theaters past the home video release if they can get fans to Rocky Horror it.

Re-released, I mean.

/Also, Box Office Mojo has Frozen at #2, so the plan must be working.

It made $9 million this weekend and only cost $8 million to make. I think the producers are probably pleased.

There were actually some good ones that got cut that wound up on the soundtrack, like "More Than Just the Spare".

Finally saw "The Wolf of Wall Street". The most farked up movie I've seen in a long time. So many hookers, boobs, and drugs shown in the movie. Probably it wasn't until the last 3rd of the movie when the action slowed down. Though there were a lot of scenes that should have been shorter. The Quaalude scene was too long as well as the scene at the strip mall.

And it seems like Jack Nicholson really influenced Leo DiCaprio. There was one time where Leo had a monologue and it appeared he was channeling Nicholson.

I just found out last week that Jason Mantzoukas was one of the writers for Ride Along. That was enough to put it on my radar when it hits Netflix.

If the blah people get their own month, why not make it the shortest month? AND also make them share it with gheys??

/said every Fundie, ever.
//and no Farkettes, the males' behavior exhibited in "That Awkward Moment" does not actually ever occur among heterosexual men. Unless they are pandering for their ghey fans.

That Awkward Moment is a total piece of crap about a bunch of obnoxious douchebags.

Labor Day is a decent, but not unflawed, little drama.

I haven't seen Ride Along because I gave my free passes to some chick.

Whatever. It's February.

Zac Efron trifecta in play.

/is Zac the new Shia LeBoeuf?

yeah, my wife thought she was going to one of the "sing along" performances saturday....turns out those are only in specific theaters. but the thing is, unlike Rocky Horror, which started off mroe or less "organically", meaning fans, Disney is actualy putting on the singalong shows.

Frozen is awesome, period.  i'd go to a sing along just for the spectacle.  and my kids already know everysong by heart.

Mad_Radhu: There were actually some good ones that got cut that wound up on the soundtrack, like "More Than Just the Spare".

yeah, since i've heard the soundtrack so many times, there is a song or two i don't remember.  but then again, i saw frozen like, 2-3 weeks ago and just once at that.  who knows.

Zombie DJ: I told my daughter That Awkward Moment looked like it was written by a girl who's never had a boyfriend.

First time I saw the trailer, I thought "This film looks like it was written by a woman who  thinks that guys act like that when there are no females around."

Seriously, it looks terrible.  Basically a male chick flick.

my wife and i saw "i, frankenstein"

it was the ONLY movie out she was even half-interested in, and one of two (including "that awkward moment") that i was interested in.

while it's not a GREAT movie, i'm shocked it isn't hyped up a bit more...it's a good movie for what it is, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. for one thing, not a dull moment in the whole movie. and some really good cgi.

aaron eckhart is criminally underused in major movies...i mean, when you can count on 1 hand the major roles the man has had, and have digits leftover...but as my wife said, maybe he's just really choosey with the roles he picks...?

Yeah, like "Life's Too Short". You can really see where they were going with Elsa until "Let It Go" helped them rethink the character.

I wouldn't mind hearing the actual cast doing the outtakes.
