Finally, a benefit of age, I'm usually in a deep sleep at this hour.

Yeah, let's get rid of the one thing that keeps us from sucking completely! Good job NBC.

What cable Siberia will Jimmy Fallon get shipped off when Leno comes back again? He seems like the perfect fit to kick off We tv's late night efforts.

Did Leno say, "I'll be bock."?

I watched the Tonight Show last Friday night, for perhaps the first time in 10 years.  Leno looked immensely fat and extremely bored.  Tim Allen was the first guest, and they had the most mind-numbing conversation imaginable.  It was two guys who seemed to know each other vaguely, trying to list all the people they knew in common.  Wow, you both met some guy in the early eighties.  Fascinating.  Tell me more!

The only reason I could figure that people still watched this is because they don't have cable and they wouldn't know what to do with themselves without the TV making lights and noises at them.

Subhead: "Jay Leno in depth".

Good luck with that.

I prefer the grumpy, bitter old man on CBS. We're a lot alike.

Jimmy Fallon has made sure to sabotage Leno's Stanley Steam car so he'll be badly scalded and never show his face again.

NBC Executive: Leno's ratings are skyrocketing. We should keep him on.

Why not combine the two Dorks.
Big Dork does monolouge and sits at desk.
Little Dork does music impersonations.
It's a two Dork show anyway . . .

Not that I have any positive feelings about Fallon as I do for Conan, but it's going to suck for that guy when Leno decides to come back a couple weeks after leaving.

Game Show Network.

I dont think leno has the power he did when the conan thing went down. I mean they gave him the 10pm show because of fear he would go to ABC. At this point though I don't think ABC would want him.

I still don't get all the Leno hate..He's not THAT awful. Are Conan and Letterman fans that bitter? Those two still have shows and you are free to watch them. One thing that has always irked me
was that Leno didn't seem really free to do his show. NBC must have an army of lawyers and old ladies that have to approve every bit he does so it doesn't offend any advertiser/viewer (past or present).
I just get this feeling that one thing Leno is really ticked off about is that NBC has never let him be the master of the show like they did Carson. NBC seems to have really claimed ownership
and total control of the show with the host being treated as just barely being beyond a semi-sentient muppet.

You watch Leno on purpose??

Jay Leno is "Comedy For Conformists". Take Lenny Bruce or George Carlin, and think of the exact polar opposite of that person in both creativity and character.

Thank you both and Fallon is Leno's Mini-Me in demeanor and talent. They're both bland as hell.

I have Carlin's "It's Bad For Ya." It's the last recording he made before he passed away. After a few minutes of listening to it I realized it wasn't funny, but the ranting of a cranky old man.

Leno has already said on 60 minutes that leaving was not his idea and he is pretty much being forced. His contract is up in September and was going to be renewed.

You'd think Leno would have been able to do something about it after eavesdropping on the latest negotiations from the comfort of his favorite closet.

Leno sucks but so does Conan and Letterman. Does anyone really watch any of those shows? They are garbage designed to pimp the latest movie from the bland face of the month. I bet Zac Effron was on all of these shows. Good quality entertainment there.

Goodbye unfunny man.

I like Fallons show a lot.. He's a great interview and the way he gets celebs to put away their little egos and be almost human for five minutes is a great break from the typical talk show routine.

The only thing I care about on late night network TV is when Peter Capaldi sits down with Craig Ferguson to geek out over Doctor Who. Until that, I couldn't give two shiats about The Tonight Show because the first half overlaps Colbert if I'm up at that hour during weeknights.

Good riddance unfunny man.

Take Stuttering John with you.

You can already get that now if you tuned into Craig Ferguson. Craig is the best late night act right now,

I liked his 'Headlines' skits, that's about it. I'm a Ferguson and 'Last Call With Carson Daly' guy myself.

Really? His interview skills remind me of that Chris Farley Show skit. "Remember that one movie you were in... That was awesome."

Now if we can just get rid of that creepy guy on CBS who would make a great serial killer.

Letterman was great the first 15 years or so, but the fact of Leno and Letterman's long head-to-head competition is that neither of them could back down from a 5-show-a-week schedule or take the guest-host-filled vacations and 4-day weekends Johnny Carson had when he had a monopoly on the format in the time slot. With 5 shows a week they've both settled on a kind of sustainable routine. Letterman can still be very funny when he's inspired to go off script though.

Agreed. Leno has never been funny but Craig is always hilarious.

Agreed. One of the funniest ones I've seen Craig do was when he interviewed Alex Kingston and somehow managed to get her talking about her Rampant Rabbit vibrator when the conversation went down a literal rabbit hole.
