Ah, typical Daily Fail.

In the article "The 5p increase would save taxpayers £10,000 a year, officials said"
And for a caption "The boosted price of the popular beverage will save about £25,000 of taxpayers' money a year"
Then back in article "All the measures together will save about £25,000 a year."

And I don't get the thing where they inject a bunch of extra crap into the cut. I'm not a farking robot, when I paste it I'll delete your linkage payload.

They drink 200,000 cups of tea there? At 3 minutes a cup that`s 600,000 minutes of time spent on tea. 10,000 hours. ~400 days, ~1200 working days.

They spend over 3 years every year just drinking tea!

At their wages that`s about £180,000 of the taxpayers money spent so they can drink tea. Every year.

That`s a house for a homeless person.

The Daily Fail makes you want to think this was the entire House of Commons debating this.

It wasn't

It was a tiny comittee thats there to oversee the entire Palace of Westminster.

What does the Daily Fail want, To have no oversight on the budget of Westminster?

/No, it wants to take a dig at the MP's who now no longer fear the tabloids.

You're putting too much thought into this.

The Daily Fail wants to generate revenue, first and foremost, so they publish anything, in hope that it will catch enough folks to earn them money.

Hit 'add comment' too soon...

Any political slant the Daily Fail may have is only a side-effect of the demographic make up of their viewership.

I was horrified the other night, I got charged $1.75 for a 12 ounce soda.

/I actually do remember when it used to cost a quarter for a frosty cold 10 ounce coke in a glass bottle.  That tasted so much better.

//Soda is bad for you.  I had a moment of weakness.

MPs are having their taxpayer-owned and chauffeured vehicles take them to the Thames where the politicians are throwing tea into the river.  Someone called it a tea party.

Well played sir. Always good to see Sir Humphrey. That show is as relevant today as it was when it first aired. It should be required viewing for every political science class.

/Yes, Minister

To be fair the journey from Parliament to the Thames is not that far....

Daily Fail making something out of nothing.
Was a small group of MPs.
Was a regular meeting that among other things covered the canteen.
They agreed the change.

Nothing to see here.
