Eeew, no. Something great about Hermione is that she didn't end up with the main magical man and there were no weird love triangles between them all.

2014-02-02 12:10:28 AM
And Ron should have ended up with Ginny./VC Andrews would approve

2014-02-02 12:12:01 AM
The argument I saw made was that it makes more sense for Harry to end up with Hermione in the movies, since Hermione ended up stealing all of Ron's major bromance moments from the books. Having never read the books, I thought Harry should've ended up with Ron regardless, and I thank the Harry Potter franchise for giving us Emma Watson in any case.

2014-02-02 12:13:11 AM
I was hoping she would "end up" with Ron Jeremy.

That always made more sense to me than Ron/Hermione to be honest.  Ron was way too slow on the uptake for her and, well, would YOU choose Ron over Harry?  No.  No one would choose Ron over Harry.  Even Ron's mom tolerated Harry more.

Agreed.  Harry and Hermione would have been so... boring and obvious.  That would be such a Hollywood ending.  The way she wrote it felt more likely to happen in the real world.

I thought Ron and Hermione made perfect sense. It's Harry and Ginny that I always found forced. I thought it would make more sense for Harry to miss out on a romantic life because of the pressure of being the "chosen one," and to later match up with someone entirely new from outside the world where he had all that hanging over him.

I always thought it was great that Harry and Hermione didn't end up together since it showed that not everything in the books revolved around Harry.

No wait... wrong movie

Course, I did think that since Harry only looked at 2 women at Hogwarts romantically showed that JK Rowling didn't understand teenage boys.  He would have looked at all of them.

In the books both Ron/Hermione Harry/Ginny relationships make more sense.

So...write another book and make it happen.  Potter fans are some of the most loyal and dedicated fans in the literature world, they'll buy your book and you'll make a shiat ton more money.

I always figured Harry would wind up in therapy, maybe living with Luna Lovegood, who was used to the crazy.

I would agree. Hermione is an only child. So is Harry. The Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny story gives the 2 characters something they never had: family.

Neither -- he's supposed to be farking dead!!!

The sad thing is, if Harry Potter were written today, Harry, Hermione and Ron would be in a love triangle purely because the editor would demand it. Hermione would of course end up with Harry but there would be a pathetic attempt across several books to make it look like Ron had a chance.

Hey, maybe she can do what George Lucas does and write another book about how they decided to get married, and she can try to shoehorn and retrofit the rest of the storyline , and claim that's what she intended all along.
