Schaniqwa: BMulligan: Kittypie070: Rob Portman (R-Ohio)

Beyond health care, Portman says the state's economy is being hobbled by fear. Business owners, he says, are "scared" of what the Obama administration will push for next, be it cap-and-trade energy legislation, card check, or the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. "You've got to figure out how to move Washington toward a pro-growth, pro-jobs agenda - a laser-like focus on jobs."

Okey dokey, so now Rob Portman is the President of the United States and Bambam has to...serve as Chief Justice for the Supreme Court.

/4 gold stripes on the sleeves FTW.

So, we've determined that either Obama or Portman first used the phrase - and yet Boehner takes credit for it. Curiouser and curiouser.

There were plenty of people using that phrase in describing the constantly renewed focus on jobs.

Did Boehner actually take credit, or did he just use the same phrase?

When Obama tries to do something about helping job growth like investing in infrastructure or tax breaks for the working poor it gets rejected by the GOP as more "failed" stimulus.

The GOP, on the other hand, are now reduced to pretending every bill they pass is a jobs bill.

Bob Goodlatte from VA went so far last month as to suggest that his "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion" bill was a jobs bill because...

It very much promotes job creation for all the care and services and so on that need to be provided by a lot of people to raise children."

Conservative logic.

Given that the GOP chose 30 years ago to go all in on a demographic that is old, dying off and not being replaced, y'all have a bit of a problem with that plan.

Propose a few more draconian gun laws and let's see how much Joe Taxpayer ends up having to spend on his newfound "healthcare coverage" and Democrats may need to switch to the Whig party to get some attention.

Something that would provide a labor pool for National Parks, Department of Education, Infrastructure, digitizing the Library and Archives, cleaning up brownfields and urban blight.  Etc.

Except that economic experts said 2008 it would take more than a decade to recover from the economic collapse.

Also, the Republicans have done absolutely everything in their power to keep Obama from creating jobs UNLESS IT ELIMINATES TAXES FOR THE WEALTHIEST PEOPLE IN THE NATION.

Some people need to go back to school and learn or re-learn that CONGRESS has to pass jobs bills before the president can. And when one side of Congress don't give a flying f*ck about people because they're obsessed with destroying one guy while screwing millions to do so, then the only real solution is to vote out these d-bags already.
