Why does the word "entitled" leap to mind?

It started out with a 91-year old Venice woman claiming she had rented an 11-bedroom home on Siesta Key for a family reunion. It turns out though that after some code violations the home now only has five bedrooms.

The six missing bedrooms seems like a bigger story to me.

I'd be calm too if I was recording some crazy person commit a non-violent felony.

she gets, car theft charges

he gets, leaving keys in the car charges(leaving vehicle in an unsafe condition, bullshiat charge)

Prosecutor throws out all charges and obstructs justice, as soon as he gets his kickback from the slumlord and tv station.

If I were to guess I'd say that the rooms weren't coded to be bedrooms.  To be called a bedroom it has to meet certain criteria.  I don't know what that all are, but I know it has to have 2 exits in case of fire, windows count.  With that many bedrooms I'm guessing the house is huge and some of the 'bedrooms' don't have exterior walls for windows and only 1 door.

I vaguely remember hearing they have to be over a certain size too, so that's possible as well.

It should have been the perfect crime, after all, if you steal the news reporter's van, who's going to report the crime?

I think that's only a 1-star, radarlove...if she ran over the reporter and cameraman, then it would have been a true GTA moment.

True- actual GTA is only a one-star offense.  If she had run from the cops, THEN it gets bumped up to two stars.  They only get pissed when you make them work for their supper.

I'm only seeing a picture of somebody getting behind the wheels of a vehicle.  Crazy times in the Sunshine State I guess.

"The State Attorney's office will decide if Price is charged with Grand Theft Auto."

WTF?!

"That lady just stole my car, and here is the video evidence!"

"Yeah. We see that, but we're just not sure if we can be bothered to charge her."

Eleven bedrooms? Even the Bradys made do with a 4 bedroom house.

Is Florida a "Buckle Up" state? Toss in charges of operating a car without a seat belt.

the man who owns the home, local chiropractor Dr. Craig Siegal

A chiropractor accused of a scam?
I can't believe it.

Y'know how in Alaska, people get mental or lethargic from the lack of sunlight, I'm wondering if there is a reverse thing, where too much sunlight can make people hyper and do things they wouldn't normally do.

I'm just trying to rationalize Florida.

Maybe it's the water.

I'm going to record you getting into your car, then have you charged with GTA, because the cops in your town will arrest first, ask questions later.
