DROxINxTHExWIND: LOL. You idiots really need to take a remedial course in logic. The shiatty conclusions you all come to are tragically hilarious.

Infernalist: You mean the suit they nearly filed against the HOA before they were paid a seven figure sum to not file suit?

none of that changes that Zimmerman was acquitted in the death of their son.  A civil suit that found him liable for Trayvon's death would go a very long way towards healing the damage done.  I mean come on.  In OJ's crim case, he was acquitted, everyone knew he did it, and the civil suit rightfully found him liable.

Problem is that the civil suit opens them up to scrutiny in ways the criminal case did not.

Yep, they took the HOA money (which does nothing but prove that they used their son's death for a payday) and ran.

Oh. Ok. i guess they didn't want people to know their son smoked marij...wait, no. Maybe they didn't want people to know their son took a picture with a gu...dammit! No, I got it. There's a rumor that Trayvon called Zimmerman a "creepy-ass craka". That type of shiat might be embarrassing for the family. I see what you mean.

none of that mattered in the criminal trail.

all of it will matter in the civil suit.

I like you dude.  don't be stupid.

2014-01-31 02:42:22 PM

frepnog: DROxINxTHExWIND: They should allow Trayvon's father to do it.

Trayvon's parents full well know exactly what kind of person their son was and are keeping pretty damn quiet.

No civil suit being filed is pretty telling.  They don't want anything else out there.

Doesn't matter who his son was.  He could've tortured rabbits as a hobby.  Who he was had no bearing in Zimmerman killing him, since Zimmerman didn't know him.  All he knew was some punk kid he pretedermined was a punk based off of personal bias had the audacity to confront him after he spent a while following him in his car and then getting out on foot to follow him some more.

That he was found innocent doesn't speak at all to whether or not he was morally right in what he did.  It simply speaks to how stupid that law is.  You can provoke a confrontation and kill someone and the major crucial factor is whether or not you was scairt when you did the shooting.

Trolly post.  You assert that their reason for not filing a suit means they know Trayvon was a bad person.  Then you say that the fact that they took a settlement rather than go through a suit...that would do the same thing...means that they're mercenary people who used his death to make a payday.

I'm going to go ahead and put you on Ignore.  Normally, it takes me a while to get tired of smacking troll biatches like yourself around before doing so, but I'm a father.

I watched most of it.  I'm summarizing my argument, certainly, given this thing has been rehashed so many times it's now a thin gruel paste.  I don't see any need to go over it again.  If you want to rail against what I said, feel free, but I'm far more interested in who is going to get the chance to render Zimmerman's face into the same consistency.

I must've missed the videos of Martin and ZImmerman's fight that were posted. Wonder why they didn't use that evidence in court. Seems like they would've blown the case wide open.

Wasn't there some famous street fighter... trying to remember the guy's name.  Saw some internet videos of him doing his work... all unsanctioned work, probably quite illegal, but the man never lost.  All bare knuckle.  Wish I could narrow it down a bit more... going to be wondering all day at the office.  Guy was like six foot six.

2014-01-31 02:58:36 PM
This is sad.  George just wants to go back to his old job as the Neighborhood Watch Captain and live a nice quiet life of driving around at night looking for street punks.  He was even thinking of retiring down to The Keys and moving into a little beach shack.  Just him and his Kel-Tec living the simple life together.

But the media won't let George have a nice life.  They are trying to drag him into the news.  Whether it's attacking the art he is trying to sell by alleging "copyright infringement", as if there's such a thing, or reprinting his celebrity boxing press release, the poor guy just can't catch a break.

George just wants the media to leave him alone as evidenced by this recent tweet:
assets.nydailynews.com
You have to admit, George has an airtight case.  I'm just worried about the MASSIVE MEDIA RIOTS that are going to break out when those people don't get what they want.  Those people are animals.

well, life is a gamble.

so you tell me they figure a little expenditure isn't worth the world knowing Zimm was found liable.

or it means exactly what I said - trayvon's parents know exactly what kind of person their son was and don't want anything else out there - because losing the civil suit on TOP of the criminal trial PROVES exactly what kind of person their son was.

i'd have shut up too.

It's unlikely an attorney would want to take the case against George. If they lose, they owe George money. If they win, they get a judgement against him and then what? Repossess his 2004 Chevy Silverado? He would just declare bankruptcy. His life is already miserable, he's broke and owes his attorneys a lot of money.
