Her super buzz appeared to be wearing off by the time the mugshot was taken.  And yes, 0.16 is pretty freaking drunk, like "biting a cop" drunk and way too intoxicated to be driving.

Super alcholism is no laughing matter. It also leads to such social ills as super teen pregnancy, super child abuse, and super traffic fatalities, which frequently kill thousands of people per crash.

Here's the thing.., When someone is out of their gourd they can plea temporary insanity, get checked into a mental institution, get checked out and medicated and go back to what's left of their life.

So, the blackout drunk or Ambien pilot is out of their mind. They shouldn't be driving, and if they were aware they wouldn't be, but they're out of their minds. Even Seneca referred to getting hammered as renting madness. People who do stupid things that earn police attention while out of their gourd should be referred to proper treatment, with Naltrexone or antabuse, instead of being thrown in jail.

And fark AA. If you sit with a bunch of people talking about the glory days of your alcohol you're engaging in ironic process theory (don't think of a white bear). You hear about it's success from the one in twenty that stay sober for the long run. If you need to break an addiction you change. Change your friends, change your lifestyle, change your location. And maybe get a hobby that will fill your head when you start thinking about your problem substance.

As much as anything, this law was passed as State revenue enhancement.  $1000 reinstatement fee for your license, etc.  Most folks in Michigan who get DUI will spend $10,000 by the time they are driving legally.  It gets really expensive if you're a repeat offender or a Super-Drunk.

I'd hit it like an open head wound while wearing no seat belt.

The friend is prettier and looks less insane.

Nuclear Monk: I'm holding out for Super Duper Drunk.

In Michigan we just call that "deceased".

That she's smarter than most of us.

Realistically, just how difficult is that?

A good majority of us are only in the thread because she cleans up satisfactory enough and is drunk and dumb enough for there to be naked pictures on The intrawebs somewhere.

Not me, of course.

Ken VeryBigLiar: Mikey1969: Yeah subby, in other states it's known as 'Extreme DUI'.

Not in Wisconsin, you barely get mentioned in the local paper for anything below .24. Unless you have a minor in the car or kill someone then you have some issues.

It depends on the city and who you are to get mentioned for a DWI in MI media.  Ypisilanti isn't like the Flint and Detroit where getting shot doesn't give you automatic media attention.  The first person in the media for the MI super drunk arrest was a cop, so that got some attention.  Years ago, Burton's mayor was arrested for DWI, but that went against the officer and not for the reason that you would think.  The mayor was riding in the back seat with a designated driver.  The cop made the arrest as a political favor for someone wanting the mayor's office.  If I recall correctly, it helped the mayor get reelected.  She's small potatoes.

Pokey.Clyde: uber humper: FYI, you can never visit Canada w/ a DUI conviction.

Wrong. You can, but only after a certain amount of time has passed (10-15 years, I don't remember) since the conviction.

Because you're FARKIN' DRUNK!

Banned on the Run: Stephen_Falken: in AZ they have a Super Extreme™ DUI. My buddy got one at .26 bac.

In China they have a Happy Fun Super Extreme Lucky DUI.

I think that's when you run over a panda, when you're blasted, or maybe that's "Golden Happy Fun Extreme Lucky DUI and Leaving the Scene of an Accident".

Mikey1969: uber humper: White_Scarf_Syndrome: This is good.  When I got popped, I blew a .10.  The law had been changed from .10 to .08 about a month earlier.  I honestly thought I was OK to drive.  A month earlier I would've been fine.

Ah my early twenties.  What a dumbfark I was.

Still am, in different ways.

FYI, you can never visit Canada w/ a DUI conviction.

That's weird... I got 2 in my younger days and got in just fine e when I went there.

Yeah I'm not sure you've got it right. In NJ, at least in 2004 a DUI was viewed as a traffic offense.

I just bought an AK47 over the internet, I'm pretty sure I'm cleared for Canada.  Hell I lived in Montreal for two years.  I'm already on record, as A-OK buddy!

Yeah...I've got two.  TX handles the "this will go away" thing as waiting 5 years consecutively after the last conviction date.  The first I was sitting on the curb eating a sandwich. The second I blew .10 so everybody friggin relax!

In NJ, you don't even have to have the keys on your person to show intent.  I know people who got busted for sleeping in their cars, with the keys placed on top of the tire to show they had no intention.  Also, if you say NO I do not consent to the breath test, that is automatic admission of guilt, PLUS an extra $600 fine.  In TX they are still messing around with the legality of giving a blood test to those who refuse the breath test and the whole "no refusal weekends" thing.  If you refuse, they call a judge at 2am, and strap you down and forcefully take your blood.  By the time this happens, some have gotten off because their BAC had dropped to legal levels.

I am about to get my CHL here in TX, but I've had to wait until my little boo boo's from my early twenties "disapear."  Every state views a DUI differently and in NJ they're viewed as traffic offenses.  Really, really expensive traffic offenses.  That you have to go away for a weekend to reeducation camp, sit in AA meetings, get pissed tested kind of offenses.

Now I sit at home and drink (usually) and my drinking has just gotten worse.  Whoever mentioned "just change" earlier, thanks. I can't get past the 1st step of AA, admitting you're powerless.  That doesn't mix well being an atheist and all.  Instead of getting blasted Sunday night I'm going to grill some steaks with my son and build his big-boy bed that's been sitting in my room for two weeks.

If the limit is 0.10, and not 0.11, you would have still got popped.

Being the dumbass I am when I'm near Portland, I can safely say I've actually looked into this.  You're considered rehabilitated after 10 years.  5 if you apply for it and can prove it.

1. He's a Canadian, they didn't have a choice but to take him back.
2. He's not convicted yet.

/Though the fact that he left the country while out on bail makes me think he isn't re-entering the US anytime soon...

wildcardjack: And fark AA.

Was actually AA that made me realize my problem isn't with alcohol, it's with Portland.  You'd think a city that size would have something more to do than wait on TriMet, wait in traffic, wait for a job, masturbate, and get drunk/high.  And given Oregon's 17% unemployment rate, one of these things is a farking myth.  Then people wonder why anything metal, bolted down or not, suddenly turns up missing, and there's maybe 22 million teeth in a city with over 2 million people...
