BMulligan: Infernalist: This is what concerns me:

1) Her age.

Fun fact: if Hillary was elected in 2016 and served two full terms, she would be 76 upon leaving office. That's the same age as Golda Meir when she retired from office, and two years younger than John McCain would have been at the end of a second term had he won in 2008. It's a little old, but not unreasonably so. I work with a guy who's 73, and he's only just now starting to lose his ability to climb up and down 10 or 15 flights of stairs in a day.

To me, age would only be a factor if she picks a poor running mate.  There's definitely a possibility she could buy the farm while in office, and if she does there'd need to be a qualified replacement.  Clinton/Warren would be a good combo, thought I doubt they'd work well together.

Mrtraveler01: BravadoGT: Stone Meadow: BravadoGT: Hillary's got an uphill battle.  As the latest numbers suggest, she can't assume she'd be favored to carry all the states Obama did.  Independents are not happy with the status quo, and policy-wise, she's really not a whole lot different than the way it is now.  "Same basic philosophy, only it'll be ME doing it this time!"  may not have the response she's hoping for...

Interesting position, but going with the Washington Examiner as your source? Come on, man...a right-wing, poo-flinging shill-rag having anything constructive to say about Hillary?

Read some polls...two-thirds of likely Democratic voters prefer her over all other Democrats, not to mention ANY Republican. The principal reason we see so many outright crazies running for the GOP nomination is that their internal polls show NONE of them able to beat here, and none of the establishment want to be known forever more as the guy who loses to her.

I thought Barone's reading of Gallup's numbers was relatively dispassionate.   Do you see something different in them?

You're taking someone who thought that Romney was going to win 315-223 seriously?

Yeah, apparently she'll have a drink with the boys once in a while to show she can, but I think she is a rare drinker. A former squadron mate was her pilot as First Lady, and according to him she always requested, and got, 'no alcohol' flights with the 89th. In contrast, TK was a lush. That was my point. We're just having fun... :)

Yeah, I see someone who used the same methodology that predicted that Romney was going to beat Obama 315-223 back in 2012 and somehow still believe that he would be right this time around using the same exact methodology he used in the past to get his hilariously wrong prediction.

He relies on the flawed belief that because voters may be disapproved with Obama's handling of things, that means they'll automatically vote for the GOP regardless of the quality of the candidate. It was wrong in 2012 and it will probably be wrong again in 2016.

2 thoughts:

1) The primary is hers for the taking, and probably the general is too.

2) The ONLY option the GOP has right now is Rubio.  I think he can win against anyone else, but he's just too wet behind the ears to go toe to toe against Hillary on policy.

Probably been mentioned, but it doesn't matter what people think about an election 33 months away where all of the candidates have not been announced yet.

/(R)s continue to show they have no shot, so the (D) candidate watch is pretty important, but still

One might conclude from this that you don't actually have any reasons as to why Hillary Clinton is "un-electable as president".

Do I think Hillary Clinton a 100% lock to win the primary or the general? No.
Do I think that there are superior Democratic candidates out there? Probably, though they have their own weaknesses.
Does that mean Hillary Clinton is, as per your assertion, entirely un-electable? Absolutely not.

Listen. Either you can back up your assertion as to why Hillary is "un-electable as president", or you can't.

If it's the former, feel free to present the reasons you feel Hillary Clinton is "un-electable as president" and we can discuss those. If it's the latter, don't be surprised if people question your opinion (because that's what it is).

What you should definitely not expect is for people to blindly accept your word as complete truth.
