It sounds like a plethora of piranhas

Sidetrack: I never remember how to spell "piranha", I always want to write "pirahna". My solution was to imagine that their toothy grin is a smile and they are laughing...piranhahaha!

Rakower smuggled 39,548 piranhas over the course of 2011 and 2012, swimming up costs of approximately $37,376, according to the statement.

What they did there. I see it.

I'm not sure why, but that image makes me want to punch that fish in its face. Hard.

Yes, it would suck.  I wonder if they're adaptable to colder temps?  Nvmd, don't want to find out.

They're not.  They would quickly die off at the first cold snap.  They would be more of a concern in southern FL.

I think there are some in the canals down here, but they don't get big or are not very common.  There are Pacu though, which people confuse for Pirahna often.  Lots of other cooler ones... tucanare, jaguar cichlid, etc etc

Can you imagine purposefully putting piranhas near your genitals?

Without actually reading the article, I'm gonna go ahead and guess that it's in fact 40,000 piranhas in your pants, as opposed to you being happy to see me.

No. Which is why it's retarded that they're illegal in any northern region.

Even in FL, they only survive long term in the southern areas, and, iirc, a breeding population has only been found once (in 1977) in an isolated pond at an abandoned amusement park.

In the south a good cold snap will kill them, and in the north they certainly won't survive the winter even one season.

I wonder if we could somehow mix piranha DNA with Asian carp or maybe sturgeon or pike?

We'd have a good-fighting sports fish, cold-water tolerant, with adult sizes in the 10 kg range.
