Difficulty: they're dedicated enough to keep at it indefinitely, which means that anyone in favor of the ACA has to be constantly on their guard against attempts to chip away at it.

guessing it might be a bitter end for them if they do. this nonsense certainly isn't getting any more popular as time goes on.

so... please proceed.

I love how their reason for wanting to repeal it is that fewer (or 'less', in their word) people will be insured.  All those people with pre-existing conditions who couldn't get insurance at any price before the ACA disagree.

There are some districts where the Tea Party incumbent has to ride this train or they will get primaried out. So they will stay on the train. In other districts, Tea Party candidate that is still screaming this stuff will lose. This repeal crap is like a giant 10 ton brick they have tied around their neck, it is going to make them loose many of the districts they won last time, but to hold on to some districts they have to run with it.

FTFA: "The group vented about their frustrations with President Barack Obama's State of the Union speech and discussed ways of repealing the "nightmare of Obamacare' after being unable to do so after more than 40 unsuccessful votes. "

Discussing ways of repealing
?  How many ways are there?  Get a supermajority in both houses (to overcome Obama's veto) and repeal it.  That's it.  But you can't pull that off, and trying over and over and over again when nothing ever changes to make anybody but you think it will work this next time is brain damaged.

The goals isn't to actually repeal Obamacare but to draw attention to themselves and get free publicity from Fox News to guarantee their next primary victory.

Did you know, that you can get a hybrid plan with a $6000 deductible that has regular copays for primary care visits and emergency room visits?  This means you can go to the doctor when your sick AND if you get hit by a bus, you don't have to worry about someone taking your house because your bill will only be $6000!!

Boy that really sucks doesnt it?

I do like to think of them sitting on the edge of their little congressional seats for every ACA repeal attempt, fingers crossed, muttering "come on, come on, no whammies, no whammies," actually believing that this might be the time it finally works.

Gohmert, Bachmann, and King tell Hannity they'll ride Obamacare 'repeal train' to bitter end.

playingintheworldgame.files.wordpress.com

"I just want to give the American people hope that there are members of Congress that aren't going to give up," Bachmann said. "We're going to stay on the repeal train because that's hurting Americans. We want health care to be better and we want people's lives to be better."

And by 'members of Congress' and 'we're going to stay on the train' Bachmann doesn't mean her personally, since she's already thrown in the towel for getting re-elected.  And as for the others, I'm sure that they'll work just as hard to end Obamacare as they have to end abortion.  Which is to biatch and moan about it for a few decades without actually ending it because it's just too damn good as a lightning rod for donations and votes.

Most of the GOP are smart enough to know that repealing it will actually hurt enough people to cost them the election. They know that stories of people who died because their covered through the ACA was cancelled will not play well. Show a mother grieving over the loss of her baby, who would have been alive had her health care plan not been cancelled, and so much for being a "Pro-Life" party. That's why they talk big but in reality they know it's here to stay.

However, many in the Tea Party don't seem to understand the concept of saber-rattling. They are 'True Believers' who have actually bought into the idea of the Obamacare Boogieman. They are willing to destroy the country and the world to stop what they believe is the ultimate evil, and they lack the self awareness to know that the ACA was based on Republican ideas. These are religious fundamentalists of the worst kind, and reason will not stop them. Sanity has not been a part of the conversation for a long time. They don't need to think, just believe.

That's what makes them dangerous. We already saw how dangerous, and if you don't understand the damage they'll do with even more power, you aren't paying attention. And if you sit out the 2014 election, you are 100% supporting them.

Not Bachmann, she's done in November. Are King and Gohmert being threatened in their districts?  I kind of thought they were secure and derping all this derp because they actually think it's what good representative democracy looks like.

The Tea Party never fail to hitch their wagons to such tenuous/temporary bullshiat.  They make up their own bullshiat and then seemed shocked later on when it proven false.  They just reject any facts that don't align with the story they tell themselves.

They truly believe that more people lost coverage than have already gained coverage as a result of Obamacare.  They are going out with it.  It doesn't matter that the facts between now and the 2014 election will completely refute that.

i've heard that not only are you required to participate...  but also that the state now has the right to go after your property to reimburse itself for any uncovered spending (on you).   so, if you're poor and have to use some medicaid... the state can take your house to cover your bills.

so... i'm onboard with repealing this mangy dog program.

They'll keep saying it and some will keep believing it. Others who know otherwise will comprehend how full of shiat they are but won't be able to vote in these asshats' districts, so even after this is long over... if they're still around, they'll still blame Obama. Same Derp Different Day.

The frustrating thing is how they constantly support policies that hurt themselves the most, all in a spiteful process to stick it to the libs.
