(NYPost)   Lawsuit claims that "game-worn" football gear sold by the NY Giants to fans may not actually be game worn. So whose taint is on the authentic Eli Manning game worn jock strap I have on my shelf?   (nypost.com) divider line 13

I see a lot of this type of chicanery in the sports card hobby.  Many of the big companies claim "Game Worn", but in reality, these swatches are "event worn".  Meaning, the athlete puts it on for a second and then sends it off to be distributed.

My assumption has always been that the "game worn" memorabilia business was a scam designed to separate fools from thousands of dollars.

no thanks, i don't want some dude's sweat on my body, gaymitter.

i did have the chance to go on the D-Backs field last year, and i surreptitiously scooped up some warning track dirt.  when i got home i scattered it in my yard.  GO SNAKES

Now all you have to do is build a nice pool in your yard so I can come over in my Dodger gear and jump in it. Go Blue!

ha!  i didn't have a problem with that at all, except for when Dodgers said (or it was reported, or whatever) that some peed in the pool.  the Snakes laid down last year, basically after the whole Puig thing happened.  and ken kendrick banning fans in the VIP section from wearing opposing team colors, that was just bush league.  we looked petty and weak.  and how we cried about the pool, that was just....just stupid.  they won.  the earned the right to celebrate.  get over ourselves, us.  how about less crying and more balling, mmmkay?

I hate that crap, because I just want to buy a box of cards and try and complete a regular set. I could care less about autographs, game-worn cards, triple black diamond printer's plate editions with serial numbers - just give me a ~500 card set with the cards organized by teams.

/I do have a "game-used" towel from Nick Novak, though
//He apparently used it to wipe up some lemon Gatorade he spilled

I never heard that, but I hope it didn't happen. That would be taking it a little too far.
