I had to stop listening to the Maddow podcast that night.. I can't handle the derp.

See, Tim, you have a golden opportunity here, to talk right into liberal America's ear about your party's ideas.

Instead, congratulations, you've reiterated that your party has no ideas, and you're Paleolithic levels of rude too.

As Charlie Pierce says, I do sometimes despair of the Rebranding.

For a Republican talking to a lesbian with journalistic authority about a black man with political authority, I have to say he was as hysterical as I expected him to be.

Wow. That was something to behold. Huelskamp/Grimm 2016!

I do hope that the Republican party doesn't eradicate itself completely.  The entertainment value of this level of crazy is the one thing I'd really miss having around.

Their "Rebranding" is merely an euphemism for "doubling down on the Derp". They actually seem to believe they aren't getting their message across because Voters aren't intelligent enough to listen.

Not quite sure whether the segment at the end after Maddow  basically quit was closer to a used car TV ad or WWE trash talking...

the funny thing is, i saw this posted on FB via "the blaze," where the spin was that he called her out for being an obama "cheerleader."

Why would he go that stupid in public anywhere?

The hilarious outro really distracted from my urge to strangle him, so that was nice.

Sad to admit this, but no one in "liberal America" was watching this one, because it turned out exactly as they expected it would.  And if, by some miracle, it didn't, they'd be like Alphax: listening to the podcast afterwards.

/I'd be willing to take the very, very few rational ideas conservatives have...if I could lose the derp of the evangelicals, "small government uber alles" hyperconservatives, and rich backers who think their own profits trump helping America and Americans.
//But since I can't, the best I can do is attempt to get Democrats and liberals to adopt those good ideas.

Maddow did nothing to him, she just let him talk. He did it to himself.

With that being said, you know his base viewed this very differently from how normal people did. They were all probably clapping and cheering him on, claiming that he suck it to the Liberals.

She challenged him slightly, and that seemed to cause his brain to short-circuit. He wouldn't have had the same break down on Fox or CBS. But yes, this will not harm his electoral prospects one bit. His party's larger goals, perhaps, but not his personal ones

The problem with a "Military! RAH RAH RAH!" Conservative going on Maddow is that she's probably one of the most informed journalists there is on the precise minutia of military spending - she did write a book on it and all.

Bringing the troops home from a war that his own party leaders have admitted was started purely for political reasons is "running against the Military" now?

They said it outright, that they "needed someones ass to kick" to insure their President's re-election for the simple reason that they literally had nothing else to support his Presidency with. Without the Iraq War, Bush had absolutely nothing going for him. He was a complete farking imbecile.

Mission accomplished, indeed.

Attempting to address the concerns of people who disagree with you is admirable.  During Obama's first campaign, Obama did it by agreeing to a debate at the Saddleback church (remember McCain showed up late).  Obama also addressed a Republicans luncheon where he stood up there and respectfully addressed republican derp and in the process schooled them.  I don't believe he was invited back.  Going to the opposition's home court to address concerns is an opportunity to expand your audience.  That said, you need to be sincere and stick to the point otherwise you look like a raving lunatic.

GOPers almost always think they are the smartest person in any conversation.
Couple that with the arrogance of a politician, the emotion maturity of an eight year-old (the Tea-bagger average), and a chance to "put that uppity libby-lesbo in her place!"

Well, then you've got the perfect storm of derp.

Wow. that guy is a representative in the truest sense of the word. He seems just as ignorant, unintelligent, and poorly versed on the issues as the type of people who voted for him.

Anything less than carrying the party line to a t and going "OBAMA SOSHULIZM BENGHAZI REPEAL OBAMACARE BLARGLEARGLEARGLE" is a direct challenge to modern day Republicans. Might as well tattoo the word traitor on your forehead if you do anything but.

Thats the problem. He IS sincere, lunatics most often are. This guy sounds like my schizophrenic friend who spends all his free time looking at websites that go into incredible detail about chemtrails, secret underground pyramids at Area 51 to house alien Lizard People (who are the real controllers of the Government), and the Illuminati bankers who are working to create a worldwide dictatorship with HAARP to turn humans into meat animals for them.

And yea, thats pretty much sums up the guy's beliefs.

Perfect example, remember Christine O'Donnell's debate with Chris Coons and her whole "Where in the Constitution is the separation of church and state?" statement when Coons said that the constitution disallowed the integration of religion into the federal government? The whole audience started laughing at her, and she thought they were laughing at Coons because she got him good. Even afterwards when it was explained to her what happened, she refused to say she was wrong, and insisted everybody else was wrong.

The Morlocks were the descendants of the wealthy humans who hid from the nuclear wars, while the Eloi were the descendants of the humans who remained on the surface because they couldn't afford to build shelters.

This guy represents the western 3/4ths of Kansas.  There are some places in his district with no trees and almost no hills.  You can see 50 miles away and back in time 60 years.  You can watch your dog run away for almost a week.

Shameless, proudly ignorant ideologues, the lot of them.

Rumor has it he was elected because he was the only man in the district with a suit.

It doesn't matter. There aren't 10 people in his entire district that have watched MSNBC in the past 10 years, beyond flipping past it channel surfing. He could have went on her show, stripped naked, masturbated to ejaculation, and rubbed the semen in his hair while singing Deutschland Uber Alles, and he'd still get 65% of the vote from the Big 1.

The Iraq war wasn't waged for political purposes. 9/11 and Afghanistan gave Bush any of that extra political support he needed. Not just at home, but worldwide. Iraq farked that all up.

The Iraq war isn't that hard to figure out. An entire administration who made their fortune in oil, put up fake evidence (that the rest of the world knew was fake) to invade a country that just happened to be super rich in said oil. It's not a coincidence, know what I mean?

Afterwards, give the VP's old company the no bid contract to rebuild the nation and voila!

Just a few short years later its already insane to think about how we let that happen.

2014-01-30 09:49:10 AM
The only people on the planet that are more stupid than Republican politicians are the people who vote for them. I mean, seriously: How moronic do you need to be to vote for a Republican? How cowardly? How ignorant? How selfish? The only way someone could possibly be cretinous enough to vote for a Republican would be if one were many generations inbred, suffering from fetal alcohol syndrome, had grown up eating paint chips, and was in the final stages of meth poisoning.

In other words, a generic mainstream Republican.

meltdown = loss of ability to speak coherent English or form a cogent argument. I have a feeling that's not a recent development for this guy.

He's obviously setting himself up for a run at the White House.

2014-01-30 09:50:29 AM
I got a lot of Southern Baptist preacher vibe off of that guy. He was trying to get you to believe in Benghazi like they try to get you to believe that the bible is literal truth. They know it sounds retarded, but they believe it so they have to make you believe it, too.

2014-01-30 09:51:06 AM
By the end of that I thought he was about to throw himself off the balcony.

2014-01-30 09:51:45 AM
What a complete idiot!
How anybody can vote in confidence for this incoherent ass is beyond me.
