If a police officer is so scared of a dog on it's own front porch they shouldn't be in a position that requires them to carry a gun.  Put them behind a desk or make them meter maids.

PUCK YOU, YOU KILLED YOUR OWN DOGS

I've had utility guys leave my side gate open.  The neighbor's kids once left the same gate open (they went into the back yard to get a ball that had come over the fence.)  Once, my front door blew open in a wind storm.  My dogs got out all three times and went to my friend's house a block away, where we have walked (on a leash) many times.  My friends had someone try to break into their house, leaving their side gate open and letting their dog escape.

I have controlled for the gate issues by locking my gates.  Utility guys and the neighbor's kids can wait for me to be home to have access to my yard.  The windstorm blowing open my front door....what ya gonna do?  Sometimes shiat happens.

My dogs getting out and being hit by a car, or being shot by a badged goon, is a haunting fear for me.  Perhaps instead of criticizing pet owners for being unable to prevent all earthly contingencies in the effort to keep their animals contained, we could, at minimum, expect cops not to shoot non-aggressive pets who are on their own properties.

Please, people, don't call cops "Pigs" in this thread.

Swine have a purpose, provide us with tasty bacon, ham, and chops, can be cute when they're little, or roasted over a fire.

Cops are usually just power mad assholes who want reasons to kill something and serve no purpose.

So, please, don't insult the pigs.

No, that's just evidence.

The cops' biggest problem is that they're both chickenshiat assholes with brain problems who have joined the LAPD, a culture that promotes chickenshiat assholes with brain problems instead of kicking them off the force.

Adam Carolla and his listeners in the LA area have story after story of just how chickenshiat and useless the LAPD are at anything but writing traffic tickets. The Dorner fiasco is just more proof of how incompetent and cowardly and quick to draw they are to the world stage.

As cop departments go, you don't want to emulate LA.

The police have a function, to collect money for the state and they have the benefit of 'professional courtesy' in many legal matters dealing with other LEOs.  They are not there to solve problems or to do things for the public good.

If there is a cop who is there for the public good s/he will be forced out or move on because this is not the job description for American LEOs.  Most police forces want those who can take orders and understand that their job is revenue enhancement.

They do exist to show presence of force for drunks or college students, and to shoot dogs, because they can and it feeds their ego.

This is the police for that those in power created, and this is the police force we live with.

Long story short, TFA does not answer the question of who let the dogs out. Who, you might wonder... who, who, who? Who let the dogs out? But that information is not in TFA.

We had a local cop that was into shooting cats and dogs.  He was finally arrested for assaulting a man in a restaurant because the guy had some kind of nervous twitch.

Some people will try and affect their squinty, "ah you don't know nothin' " authority pose to defend this.

This happens in spite of every day people noticing that the pooch has a huge dick in it's ass.  The questions is, why?  What do they hope to gain as far as forbearance from a violent, insular culture that has openly displayed their complete disdain for anybody that doesn't have the same costume?

It's obvious isn't it? Cops get off on it. They were bullies in school. they were too stupid to get a four year degree and not restrained enough to be PE teachers, so they became cops. The last legitimate means to bully everyone all the time. And where better to be a super bully than the LAPD?

Where did you get this silly notion that being a high school graduate is a requirement for being a cop in the US?

/silly human

Local requirements here in Philly.  You have to have a diploma to become a cop (or have served a full tour in the military).  To become a detective, you have to have some college credits, but you can go to the local community college and fulfill the requirement.

We have a police academy, but the city won't fully fund it, so cops get a few weeks of training instead of the months they're supposed to get, and they have a hard time keeping the firing range open.

Personally, I'd rather the city was patrolled by fully-trained Marines and that we sent the PPD to Afghanistan.  It would make things better in every way possible, and I'd have no worries about interacting with the police.

Life is precious because it ends.

The people and animals that make us feel loved and wanted and needed that fill our days with a sense of belonging and purpose are the lives we hold most dear, and as such, we pray they end as a result of old age, entropy and the inevitability of that natural end.

The people who would tear that from us for ego, hubris, profit or to reinforce their bloated sense of being above being called to task for their misdeeds are always going to be on the sh*tty end of the stick when we honestly evaluate the things in this life that matter.  As they should be.  And if we keep giving them power, we'll be a graveyard stocked with the hopes and dreams of the innocent, that were used for bogroll by the spiteful, vindictive and sadistic.

We can either start firing these people while we still can reach the lever or just tuck our heads up our asses and snapchat our GTA scores to our wai cool BFFs until mom's SUV, our Visa cards and 30/5 mbp/s internet connections no longer insulate us from the sh*tstorm of criminality from those to whom we would grant authority starts landing on OUR lawns.  And you will be found by history to be desiccated in a prone position, hand on your ass, Pompeii stylee, waiting for people to be moved by your story of "but I thought it couldn't happen here."

no, here's the thing,troll.

There are things called 'dogcatchers' that are tasked with capturing loose or problem animals.
If your pet escapes from your property for some reason but does not cause physical harm to others it does not warrant a gottdam death sentence.
