"We should not be taxing Americans and forcing them to fund a violation of their religious freedom. The passage of this bill today is one more step toward restoring respect for the sanctity of human life."

So everyone who believes "thou shalt not kill" is going to get a refund for the Iraq invasion?

Small government for the win!

You'd think someone whose job is making law would understand the concept of "representative government".

Don't forget the Jehovah's Witnesses and their refund for government-funded blood transfusions.

Didn't you read your bible? Thou Shalt not Murder doesn't apply to brown people

Republican Jesus said so in the Sermon at the McDonalds

FTFA: The bill is unlikely to go anywhere in the Democrat-controlled Senate, and the   that President Barack Obama would veto it if it ever came to his desk.

A great use of time and resources GOP, way to go.

I can't wait for someone to point out that the Bible really says "thou shalt not murder", so it was OK while oblivious to the hypocrisy.

In fact, the bill would not actually prevent federal taxpayer dollars from funding abortion because the Hyde Amendment has already done that for more than three decades.

You would think that members of Congress should have some idea of the laws already on the books to deal with the issues that they say are so important to them. Republicans are doing a nice job trying to make Shakespeare's Macbeth about them:

It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury
Signifying nothing.

2014-01-29 09:03:05 AM
Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said after the vote, "This President promised that 'under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions.' We know now that was a lie...

I think this "OMG he LIED!!" shiat is getting more tiring than anything else. There's no room for him to have farked up, it's all like he purposely lied, knowing full well every single aspect of what could happen. That, and that he "lied" because he somehow controls how the insurance companies react to the healthcare bill. Fark these pieces of shiat. I can't believe that they haven't figured out yet that they are driving potential voters AWAY with this never ending pile of garbage.

Oh, and there's also the fact that he didn't lie, since this has ALREADY been illegal, as TFA mentions.

Probably the weakest response yet from the GOP...

By all means, though, make the ACA the centerpiece of your mid-term elections GOP. That'll work out well, I'm sure.

The slide show at the bottom begins talking about Sharia law, or more specifically, legislation about foreign laws being used here... Jesus was a Jew from Israel, Catholicism is HQ'd in the Vatican, and Martin Luther was a  German... that pretty much rules out Christian law as much as Islamic law, right?

2014-01-29 09:40:12 AM
So, folks are upset that we might have Sharia law, but Christian law is OK, in a society that has freedom of religion?

Here's the funny thing: you pay into insurance, so the company helps subsidize medical choices. You aren't forced to pay for procedures, you pay into a middleman. Folks themselves, and their doctors, make their own decisions. You don't want to "pay" for anyone else, then maybe you don't want insurance. Good luck with that you NeoLuddites...

They'll at LEAST stop whining about insurance paying for birth control, right?

What's funny is one of the very first acts of the followers of Moses was to murder all the idol worshipers. Then they went on to murder the residents of Jericho.

Silly, we haven't paid any money for the Iraq invasion. That all went on the credit card. We are only paying interest on the invasion...so far.

I'd like to write him a letter letting him know that as a Quaker, I'd like him to sponsor legislation making it illegal for federal funds to be used for executions (probably already true anyway) and warfare. Unfortunately, it seems he disregards any letters or emails that don't come from within his district. Bummer.

GOP 2010-2014: "Pass this abortion bill because us bureaucrats want to be in charge of women's health care."
