Meh.

That said, if someone approached me to deliver a SOTU response for any president, I'd shoot them on the spot.

In Mike Lee's mind, one of the cause of "real inequality" is marriage equality. He seriously said that.

The incomes of everyday workers began to separate from productivity all the way back in 1978. At that time, Barack Obama was a student at Punahou School, a high school in Honolulu. I'd love to know how a high school student could personally cause a three-and-a-half decade long trend of money being poured into the vaults of the rich.

He was smoking a lot of pot then. People always want to see evidence of the so-called "dangerous side effects" of the drug. Well, here you go.

equality makes inequality in that all of us are now equally inequal and that's not equality, that's inequality

I've actually heard this a lot the last few days. Is this the new talking point? Inequality is Obama's fault?

In the same way that "whoever smelt it, dealt it."

That's the level of reasoning coming from the GOP these days.

Really? Pot caused income inequality? Is there anything it can't do?

I thought to the GOP and the Tea Party, economic inequality is a good thing. Or at least a natural thing at the fault of the poors, not anyone else.

2014-01-29 10:32:17 AM
wait... so the GOP is concerned with the poors now?

Yes... they're concerned they're starting to get uppity...

"Obamacare - all by itself - is an inequality Godzilla that has robbed working families of their insurance, their doctors, their wages and their jobs," Lee said.

It hasn't been in effect for 30 farking days! They just sound more and more desperate by the day. They should too. Every person that obtains affordable healthcare through the ACA is a lost vote as long as "Obamacare bad" is their platform.

The GOP is concerned the poors are noticing and blaming them.  See:  Romney's 47%

The GOP sees what's going on.  But their reaction/response is ridiculous.

2014-01-29 10:49:28 AM
The man is a monster. Repeal Obamacare, that will fix the inequity.

HOW long before the GOP takes full credit for Obamacare?

I predict that sometime after the 2014 general election that the TALKING Points will change to how ACA was created by the GOP, clearly based on Romneycare, and that without the GOP, the ACA would never have passed and become law.

Since repealing DADT didn't turn the 101st Airborne Division into a meth-fueled circuit party, I'm now starting to hear CONCERN over why Obama didn't repeal DADT sooner.

You're right, it's terrible what President Obama did to the country as a high school student and the American people need answers as to how he manipulated the American economy at that time.  I suspect George Soros was involved.

Hey now, January isn't even over and we are in an election year. Plenty of opportunities lay ahead for someone to challenge for the title.

Interesting. They seem to have pulled off framing the debate about economic inequality, or at least have succeeded in forcing the GOP to respond on those terms. A rare success for Democratic messaging, though I suppose the GOP response of "Yes, it's a problem, but it's all Obama's fault" was inevitable.

Not necessarily, usually it's "income inequality isn't a problem, and to say it is is a war on the Job Creators™"

Obviously the poor have it too good, and won't work hard until we put the fear of God/death into them so they work harder. The rich don't have it well enough, so we need to make their lives easier so that they will work harder.

Well, if the President has a time machine, he OBVIOUSLY went back to 1980 and gave the breakdown of 'trickle down' economics to Reagan and his administration.  I mean, how else could a former Hollywood actor come UP with something like that?

Obama's Reptiloid Master: Are you sure it wasn't RONALD REAGAN?

If you can find a copy, read "The Politics of Rich and Poor" by Kevin Phillips. He was one of Nixon's advisors and a principal architect of the Southern Strategy who later had a "road to Damascus" moment. He lays out in great detail how the Reagan administration set out to redistribute wealth upwards, and how they succeeded. It's a great read.

They think that the tea party will believe anything they say.  They have gotten away with revising history so much that they use it as a daily tactic.

He is very selective about using his time machine. I'm sure he used it and knows the GOP will eventually support the repeal of DADT so he refused to use the time machine to get rid of it sooner. Worst POTUS evar!!!
