In an interview on Sunday, Paul had said that Clinton was partially to blame for the so-called "war on women" because of his affair with Lewinsky. And the Kentucky Republican asserted that it would be difficult for voters not to also find Hillary Clinton responsible for her husband's behavior.

See, the more they think Hillary is running, the more they're going to talk about Bill.  The problem is, when people think about Bill, yes, they think about Monica, but they also think about a record Dow, a budget surplus and (relative) goodwill in the Middle East.

He's also just about the only politician in America that can speechify better than Obama. Giving him any excuse to speak is not a good plan of action for the GOP.

Maybe Ron could read him a bed time story. Like the one about The Mighty Silver Dime and how it was going to solve all of America's debt problems.

"Well, gosh, their standard bearer seems to be a guy that was committing the workplace kind of violence that we should all be opposed to."

1) Obama is the current "standard-bearer" for Democrats. We had elections and everything, Randy. You might accurately call Clinton "President emeritus", "an Democratic elder statesman", "the best goddamn president since at least Ike/FDR", "husband to the Junior Senator from NY", or "the Democrats' best weapon against the GOP", but "standard-bearer" kind of misses the intervening 14 years.

2) You SHOULD all be opposed to it, but your colleagues don't seem to agree. Also, under the "forcible" or "violent" or "rape" qualifiers your team likes to use, Clinton didn't even commit a crime. Also, you know what else falls under "the workplace kind of violence we should all be opposed to"? Harassing a fellow or subordinate employee (or even a superior, if you have no sense of self-preservation) for being gay or transgendered, which in many states is more legal than telling a dick joke to the woman you banished to the broom closet to breastfeed.

I've seen workplace violence, and what happens afterwords when the assaulted does not press charges and the assaulter gets away with a slap on the wrist.

An office affair isn't workplace violence.  It might not be the healthiest of workplaces, but the affair was consensual.

Please proceed Sen. Paul.

Please.

Proceed.

You may want to be careful using that line of reasoning. He was her boss (though not directly, he definitely had hiring/firing power), so "consent" is murky at best. I know she never claimed coercion, and no one sane ever alleged it (I figure Bobbarr'd have sprinted to the Senate with that info if it had existed), but to assume that it was as consensual as consensual gets is incorrect.

I liked this from the Comments:

"Clinton was partially to blame for the so-called "war on women" because of his affair with Lewinsky..."
Well, that explains EVERYTHING. Certainly sheds insight into why his party wants to run and own my womb, give me inequality in pay, and sexualize everything I say and do.
Thanks ever-so-much, Rand! I guess when you run out of the absurd ideals to blame Obama for you just look to who was in place before and simply blame them. As being born unfortunately female I'll start up a Lewinsky-bashing site right away to make it once again all right with the insane world you live in.

I doubt they are his instincts.  I'm sure they have tons of market research that guides them on this message.  Uppity women push the derpers buttons, the Clintons push the derpers buttons, mention the two in the same sentences and Rand Paul keeps his job and the cycle of derp continues.
