I've never understood his appeal; I tried listening to some of his stuff and all I can say is that he's a no-talent hack that managed to fill a niche populated by those with horrific taste in music.

And he's an oversensitive, greedy bastard.   Keep suing your fans, dude, they like it and respect you for it.

I've not been a huge fan (but Purple Rain was a great movie and album), but like him and his music or not, the guy is extremely talented.  This might be total douche move, but to deny that he has talent and calling him a non-talent hack says more about you than him.

Whoa, now, I gave him credit for Batman, didn't I? ;)  Albeit as an afterthought, though obviously I admitted in some form he's got some talent, but yes, his other material I've attempted to listen to strikes me as the worst kind of dreck in musical form.

I've never seen Purple Rain past a few minutes. Heheh sorry, I just don't like anything he's done except for some of the music he did in Batman.

I though my afterthought would explain the level of hyperbole in my post. I do it often. Grains of truth hidden in farkyness if you will.

Yeah yeah, he's a musician, he sues people, he used to be a big deal once, blah blah blah. Get to the important part already. These pancakes, were they blueberry? Whole wheat? Balanced on a bunny's head? Real journalism is dead! Dead, I tell you!

The funny thing about Prince is, his work is so diverse, even his fans don't like ALL of his work.  Most seem to like Purple Rain, yes, but some may love Sign of the Times and hate Diamonds and Pearls, whole others are the complete opposite.

Everyone pretty much hates Chaos and Disorder, though, so avoid that one.

Purple Rain was awesome because of Morris Day and The Time (and I understand that Prince wrote their music, too).

And Apollonia's tits.

Glad he dropped the lawsuit.  I mean, I get wanting to have control over your intellectual property, but $22 million is just offensive.

Not so far, it hasn't.

And Prince also lost against several file sharing services.

Wow... I'm not liking his new band already.

Sometimes, he promotes girls he likes and they turn out to be amazing (Jill Jones, Susannah Melvoin, and even Apollonia Six/Vanity Six, to some degree) and sometimes, they don't.

I'll wait and see. Until then, I think I'll just listen to my Jill Jones album.

And if it's good enough for Mad Magazine(of the 60s and 70s), it's good enough for anyone.

The "just making an observation" line, eh?  Give me a big fat break.

You obviously were calling me a douchebag.  In some ways I am nerdy, but eh...not really.

Maybe if I weren't as cynical I'd believe you, but going by your original post, you're a liar who shamelessly wants the blame shifted onto me. No thanks.

Heh. Damn, dude, I think you should get the word "~Dreck~" detailed onto your car.

Look into the works of Don Martin maybe, or perhaps Dave Berg.
