And the paintings aren't half bad either.

And she doesn't even seem to be using as much as a pencil sketch, let alone some kind of overlay or photo tracing.

I'm completely enamored, I don't know what it is but I always fall for the realists.

I followed all the links in TFA, but didn't find anything that explained in the slightest the "finger painting" process used.  My mother was an artist (the starving kind) and from her I learned that the word "pastels" generally means one or more of two things: [1] chalk, usually in bright colors and [2] bright colors.  Chalk you can scrape across a medium and draw something and you can also smear it with your fingers, a stick, a brush or whatever gives the texture you're looking for.  Brightly colored "pastel" paints can be treated similarly, per the medium.

I would really like to know what she's actually doing, what kind of pigment carrier she's using and how she's applying it.  Since I can't find the answers to those interesting questions...

I'll ask, since she seems to like to show them, why does she have such saggy tits?

realism is farking HARD.  people act like "oh can't you just take a picture, and you could, but making art that is super realistic is goddamned DIFFICULT.

You think this is an act?  It's not an act, it's Fark.com!

I like realism too.  Are you educated in the making of realistic art?  If so, it would be really nice if you could address some of the questions I have posted that you failed to quote in your reply.  The poorly written FA and the artist's website explained nothing.  The two take-aways I got from the text and visuals provided by both were [1] nice realistic paintings or chalkings and [2] tits.

I should apologize for the whole "tits" bit in general, especially if the artist happens to know or care about this thread.

It was meant as a sort of non sequitur to indicate my frustration.  As in, "this is neat shiat but no geek details?  Fark that, here's this other thing."

A few days ago I saw this guy's channel on Youtube. I couldn't stop watching as he took various objects and rendered them on paper.

What kills me about this, is that she did these with f*cking pastels.

For those who maybe haven't delved into putting art on canvas or paper, and rely on digital effects, this is absolutely mindblowingly meticulous and technical work. I sketch, I draw, I paint, pen and ink, sometimes water colors, and rarely acrylics, and I haven't the patience to even begin to ken the process here. I am just gob smacked by this work. My father does pointillism pen and ink series, and that prepared him for tattooing, and his work is stunningly intricate in an entirely different way, and I grew up with an appreciation for this kind of craft.

Yeah. I'm impressed. This is some brilliant work.

Those must have been some seriously distracting tits considering at least two of your questions are answered by this picture from TFA:

If you like the stuff in the article, you really should check out her site.  Not all of it is as realistic as what's in the article, but it's all pretty damn impressive.

TFA describes her images as "hyperrealistic".

hyper-
pref.
1.Over; above; beyond:  hypercharge.
2.Excessive; excessively:  hypercritical.
3.Existing in more than three dimensions:  hyperspace.
4.Linked or arranged nonsequentially:  hypertext.

I find her images very realistic, but certainly not beyond realistic or excessively realistic.

/her art is impressive.  My issue, as usual, is with reporters
