skinink: What's Bing? The default search engine that shows you all the porn stuff Google no longer thinks you need to see. I still like Google Maps, GMail and Calendar but I think for more than a few years Google Search isn't what it used to be. It's like they forgot what made their search good in the first place.

They didn't, they just don't care anymore.  But it grew their market share, so now they've moved on to using their dominant position to actually shape and define what they want their users to see and what they want the web to be able to offer.  In other words, it's no longer about what you or I want, it's what Google wants.

delta_pwnd: Smirky the Wonder Chimp: I grew up there, and I lived there for years.  There's good and bad people everywhere.  Yes, the economy's in the worst part of the shiatter, there's plenty of the Mongs that Time Forgot swarming around who routinely break shiat and do their damndest to keep it broken, and unfortunately they're REALLY motivated to vote, but that's true of anywhere.  There's a lot of absolutely gorgeous rivers, woods and mountains if you're into nature, there's awesome, friendly people and--especially if you're in the northern part of the state--even (dare I say it) culture worth taking in.

It's not a complete wasteland.

thank you Smirky.

fusillade762: cowgirl toffee: Glitchwerks: FizixJunkee: What's Bing?

A search engine no one would really care about if they didn't pay people to use it.  The day they take that away is the day Bing dies.

You can get a malware toolbar with ask.com

I finally got my mom to switch to Chrome on her new laptop and somehow the default search engine got swapped to Ask.

10-1 it was a java update or flash/pdf/assorted other adobe shiat
