Yeah? Well up here in Canada, 95000 want him to stay where the hell he IS.

We should get a competition going. Loser gets Bieber.

2014-01-28 06:15:22 PM
It's 81,000+ now.

I would sign it but I don't want to create an account.

I don't want him deported though.  I think he should be a pilot for NASA.  On a one-way rocket to the sun.

Thank God we (Canada) included the "Shatner" clause in the NAFTA agreement.

Sorry, Yanks. You're S.O.L.

Has this stupid White House petition system succeeded in accomplishing ANYTHING? (No, "awareness of my pet issue" does not count.)

I'm gonna go on a limb and say the answer is NO, so don't get your hopes up.

2014-01-28 06:25:14 PM
Fine, we take Detroit and you keep Bieber.

2014-01-28 06:27:24 PM
Look Canada, we'll take Rob Ford if you take back Bieber.

2014-01-28 06:30:16 PM
So the kid's a choad. What is deporting him going to accomplish? He'll still be all over the news from his antics in Canada or elsewhere.

2014-01-28 06:30:40 PM
Looks like Bieber is getting.. Presidential treatment

2014-01-28 06:30:41 PM
Rob Ford is a national treasure. No way.

I lost all faith in that thing when Biden didn't get a Trans Am.

A petition isn't going to get him deported. Going by the thread from a few days ago the type of visa he has would require him to commit a felony or a crime that has a sentence of one year or more of incarceration. Since most, if not all recent charges against him have been dropped, he cannot be legally deported.

Has a big celebrity been deported from the US recently for anything?

2014-01-28 06:42:10 PM
I seem to remember John Lennon not being allowed into the US because he got busted for pot in Japan.

Felony egging qualifies, provided that you use standard cop math when calculating the damages.

The petitioners might have credibility if they referenced his O Visa instead of a green card.

I would like to deport Pat Robertson to Rio.

I would like to deport Rush Limbaugh to the Dominican Republic.

I think they would both fit in nicely there.

Why is Fark so obsessed with Justin Bieber? It's more than a little creepy to have ostensibly grown adults discussing the events of some random teen idol's daily life all the time. Why the hell do you care what this guy does?

I know, you just hate him so much, what with the music and the money and all the preteen girls. He's such a bastard, acting like every other person who ever became a pop sensation or a famous "rockstar". But let it go already.

Aggravated felony... and his cases are nowhere near that standard.

Have you tried watching late night TV recently? Fark picks on him for the same reason they do- he's a rich, spoiled teen heartthrob doing stupid things. He's an easy target.

I actually defended him when I thought that's all he was. He's much worse than that. Go to the politics tab if talking about vacuous asshole celebrities is beneath you.

My father just turned 83. He called me up to tell me Justin Beiber had done such and such. I told him I couldn't give a rats ass. I'm 47, I never listen to the guy, and it didn't make the slightest bit of difference what he (Justin) did. It's not something I'm interested in or follow. My sons are all grown up, and they're more into..f*ck if I know? I don't think it's Justin Beiber though.

And that got me thinking about the nature of psychology and the determined tactics of studios and production companies that sell music and musician and the modern nature of carefully staged and controlled press.

And old trick in the old days of television wrestling was to have a good guy, suddenly become the bad guy and vice versa. When the crowd was losing interest in a character they'd deploy this tactic, and refill the seats.

Doesn't that sound like what's going on now? And has probably been done for awhile with success. You take someone like this Jusint guy. Perhaps his records are starting to tank, or his demographic target audience is growing into a new genre. What do you do with your investment? Why, you change his character. The pretty boy, is now the bad boy. He's news worthy. People go and purchase his music. It's our nature after all.
Seems to me this is the same formula they did with Miley Cyrus. It feels generated. Like a staged act, where you take the good guy, and flip them. So they generate interest, traffic, and once again become a commodity.

Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows or gives a f*ck? But. If you have so much money to be made, wouldn't you employ the smartest marketers, psychologists, and producers to keep the money rolling in? I know I would when it's millions of dollars at stake.

indarwinsshadow: The pretty boy, is now the bad boy. He's news worthy. People go and purchase his music. It's our nature after all.

There is a flaw in this logic, though. Justin Bieber's fans are pre-teens, not much of a music-buying demographic. Parents of these children are not going to be rushing out to buy their little girl some music by some douchebag just because he is a douchebag.

I hate douchebags.  Justin Bieber is in the news everyday for doing something that makes him a douchbag.  Therefore I hate Justin Bieber.

I think it's sort of the opposite. He had the market cornered on teen girls who find him non-threatening, then he became a choad and his record sales are down and he can't fill stadiums anymore. It's like those people who thought the who Duck Dynasty thing was a PR stunt. Obviously it's not working. Their ratings are lower than they have been in a year. Sometimes an asshole is just an asshole.

His target audience has grown up though. The music and his image are probably maturing under the carefully staged ideas of his producers (Christ only knows and I don't want to. Don't link anything or any videos to this guy. Again, not interested in his music). And my interest is the fact it IS the parents and grandparents talking about this douche. Why would they care? They shouldn't but the fact is, he's all over the news. Maybe they're trying to craft a new image for him, kind of like Miley going from a kind of ordinary chick, to a freak who licks everything like a cow in heat. (Suddenly reminded me of Britney Spears doing that fake french kissing sh*t with Madonna way back in the early 00's, now there's a carefully managed product. She freaks out, shaves her dome, and she's back a couple of years later. Shouldn't that have killed her career because of her weirdness? Nope, instead they're back to pushing the sexy Britney. She's a product, lets make money)
Seriously, I must have heard more about this Justin kid from adults then I have from kids. Why the hell would adults give a sh*t what he does? I'm baffled by the attention this is getting unless it's staged for a reason, and the media is co-operating because they're owned (a least in part) by some of the people who own a chunk of the production of this person.

It's just speculation, but it really seems contrived. And again, there's other examples over and over of the same type of manipulation. When it's money to be made, people will do, say and act any way the producers want them to. Long as it keeps the product in the publics eye.

I saw this once in a tabloid. Justin and Selena, best friends. They did absolutely everything together.

Then one day, Justin fell in with the "wrong crowd" and Justin didn't have time for Selena anymore. Selena would say, "Wanna go play a game or pretend we're kitties?" And Justin would say, "Uh-uh, I'm in with the wrong crowd!"

Selena was so sad, that she ran home, climbed up a tree and started eating cookies.

A ton of cookies. She got huge.

Huge!

HUUUGE!

HUUUUUUGE!

...got any cookies, Mugato?

There are tons of things which are staged and manipulated (your example of the Britney/Madonna kiss) but in Beiber's case I actually can't see how a "bad boy" image would help him.

I actually think he's justing farking up on his own.

No charges have been dropped. Yet, anyhow. It's internet rumor.

He hasn't been arraigned so there aren't any charges to BE dropped. Arraignment is on Monday.

Well, if we snoop through his computers and cameras I bet we can find naked selfies from when he was 16. Then we charge him with producing and possessing child porn. Viola, he's gone.
